Linda E. Gonzales

Linda E. Gonzales – 66 – of 10 Sawyer Street Site, Hornell, died Tuesday afternoon (April 22, 2014) at Rochester General Hospital following a long illness.

Born in Sonyea, NY on October 6, 1947, she was the daughter of Raphael Gonzales and the former Josephine Jones.

Linda resided in the Hornell – Wayland area for most of her life.  She was a member of the Women of the Moose where she enjoyed playing “games of chance”.  Linda loved music, listening to live bands & dancing.  She also enjoyed attending plays and other theatrical productions.  She loved playing bingo.  Her greatest pleasures came from spending time with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gene Gonzales; her grandson, David Matthew Stoddard; and step father, Frank Galvan.

Surviving are 2 sons, Neil “Punk” (Dawn Patton) Stoddard of Arkport and Matthew “Matt” Stoddard of Hornell; 5 brothers, Ralph Gonzales of Watertown, Frank “Poncho” Galvan f Bath, Mark (Wendy) Galvan of Avoca, Ricky Gonzales of Barberton, FL and Reggie Gonzales of Forest, VA; 4 sisters, Mercedes “Merci” (George Sullivan) Galvan of Avoca, Cathy (John) Balcer of Painted Post, Rorrie Gonzales of Vincent, FL and Rochelle Gonzales of Dansville; her step-mother, Caroline Gonzales of Wayland; her long time companion, Mike Rowley of Hornell; her grandchildren, Justin Stoddard, Blake Stoddard, Nicole Patton, Jessica Patton, Kristen Mota, Ryan Mahdy, Brittany Stoddard and Brook Stoddard; her great-grandchildren,
Mia Mota, Angel Mota, Teegan Eveland, Sebastian Mota, Harper Stoddard and Jaedyn LaManna; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews.

The family of Linda E. Gonzales will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY where a Memorial Service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 6:00 PM with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating.

Linda’s family request that memorial contributions in her name be made to the Hornell Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Dr., Hornell, NY 14843.  Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home or click here to print a form.

    So sorry to hear of Linda’s passing. My condolences to her family and all those close to her. I knew her when we were young, we had our first born on the same day at Bethesda hospital and we became friends. I lost track of her over the years but always kept the fond memories. May the Lord bless her family during this difficult time.
