Sarah “Sally” Dean

Sarah Manning “Sally” Dean of 322 Grand St., Hornell, died early Saturday morning (June 28, 2014) at her home, following a long illness.

Born in Hornell, she was the daughter of John & Mary (Loree) Manning.

Sally was married to Donald P. Dean who died in 1964 and later married Peter J. Bey who died in 2005.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, John D. Manning; her step-children, John Bey and Steven Bey.

Surviving are 6 daughters, Rosemary (Gary) Hajnos of Grand Island, NY, Teresa (Ben) Taylorson of Fallston, MD, Patricia Stiles of Hornell, Kathryn (Mark) Morrissey of Hornell, Monica Feenaughty of Hornell and Donna (Kevin) Dean-Hemler of Canisteo; 3 sons, David (Carrie) Dean of Sarasota, FL, Phillip Dean of St. Petersburg, FL and Paul (Becky) Dean of Canisteo, NY; her sister, Mary Teresa Guidarelli of Rochester; her sister-in-law, Olga Brutsman of Andover; 1 stepson, James (Melanie) Bey; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews.

The family of Sara Manning “Sally” Dean will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 AM at St. Brendan’s Church in Almond.

Sally’s family request that memorial contributions in her name be made to the Hornell YMCA, 18 Center St., Hornell, NY 14843or to St. Brendan’s Church, Main St., Almond, NY 14804.  Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home or click here to print a form.
