Roy T. Sugden – (61) – of 396 Canisteo St., Hornell died Thursday evening (March 5, 2015) at Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, following a long illness.
Born in Hornell on January 30, 1954, he was the son of Howard & Clarissa “Skip” (Santon) Sugden.
Roy grew up in Hornell and attended Hornell High School and resided in Nebraska for several years, returning to Hornell in about 20 years ago. He attended Free Methodist Church in Hornell.
Throughout the years he had been employed as a maintanance worker for several area businesses, including the Hornell American Legion and Stop N Shop.
In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Sugden.
Surviving are his son, Edward; his daughter, Michelle; 2 brothers, Jay (Cathy) Sugden and Donald Sugden; 1 sister, Anita; his dear friends, Francis “Toby” & Harriett Hollister of Hornell; nieces & nephews.
At Roy’s request there will be no calling hours. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY, with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating.
Roy’s family request that memorial contributions in his name be made to First Care Hospice, 11751 East Corning Road, Corning, NY 14830. Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home.
