My Deepest Sympathy to each of you. George was a special individual to many especially this writer. Our DOT friendship began in 1976 and continued until he was called home. The day George retired was a happy day for him but a huge void for me. All those years, each day George was working, I could depend on sharing before work hours and break times with him. The trustworthy that we shared was wonderful. I was his life support in case of medical emergency….the chain around his neck contained lifesaving pills….I’ve been friends with many but no one like him. So many stories some that would bring tears from laughter (the bullet wound he so graciously displayed) and a position that while he scored very high and was Number 1 on list didn’t get the job (because not enough Manhattan’s with the boss). I loved George’s honest and being truthful, he never sugar coated anything….told it like it was or the way it was going to be. The stories could go for hours. We’ll miss him but know he’s happy now being with his love, Carol. May each of your memories bring smiles and laughter. May the Lord bless you all now and forever. RIP George, my friend!

    Dear Kim, Will and family,
I was so saddened to learn from Margie that your dad was ill and in the hospital. I began praying for him and all of you immediately. And when Margie shared the sad news that he had died, I immediately thought of your dear mom Carol….what a joyful reunion that must have been in Heaven when George was called home! I am sure it is “quite lively” up there now! I will surely miss seeing your dad up at Wegman’s food court; and his unique and special way of teasing as only he could! You will all continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. I know your faith, love, and beautiful memories will give you much comfort and strength in the days, weeks, and months ahead. God bless you all!

    Dear Kim, Will, and family,
I am so so sorry to hear this. I just read the obits and was shocked to see your dad’s name. I am sorry we missed calling hours. So sad we won’t see him out and about but he will now be happy spending his time with your Mom. They are now back together. Anything you need, please let me know. Thinking of you all. Take care–love you.
