My wife and I arrived in Arkport in February of 2017. A move to a new area can be unsettling, and Arkport is indeed quite different from Newport, RI. Kelly was the first person outside the church to become our friend. I work in the church next door and would stop by for coffee and sundries on a regular basis. It seems I encountered Kelly multiple times a day. She always greeted me cheerily and we would often chitter-chatter for a little while about this or that. Kelly had a spirit of welcome about her. I would walk by her house on the way to/from work. Her porch had more than one “Welcome” sign on it and that seems to fit nicely with the warm sense of welcome my wife and I felt from her. She will be missed by many for a long time.

May the Lord strengthen and comfort Kelly’s family in this season of unanticipated grief.

    Peace,
    Pastor Bruce

When shopping at the Arkport Shurfine store, it was always a pleasure to visit with Kelly about events of the day. She was an extremely friendly, kind, and gracious person. Kelly beamed when discussing her daughters and her grandson, of whom she was so proud. Her love for family was apparent to all. I know she will be missed by her family and many friends. I will miss chatting with such a delightful lady, and express my sympathy to all the members of her family.
