William R. “Bill” Remchuk

William R. “Bill” Remchuk – 68 – formerly of Madison Ave., Hornell, died Thursday morning (July 23, 2020) at the Corning Center for Rehabilitation in Corning, following a long illness.

Born in Hornell on June 19, 1952, he was the son of John & Marguerite (Englert) Remchuk.

Bill grew up in Hornell and was a graduate of Hornell High School (class of 1970).  He was a veteran of the US Army, serving his country from 1970 – 1973.  He later served as a member of the National Guard.

For many years, Bill had been employed in the sales department at Arkport Suzuki and in his younger years was an avid motorcycle rider.  He was also a “camera buff” and for a time took family and individual portraits at Walmart.

Bill was married on September 10, 1977 to the former Michelle “Mikki” McDonald who died August 14, 2019.  He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Tabitha “Tabi” Remchuk Wang who died April 23, 2020; his brother, John Remchuk.

Surviving are his son, William “Bill” (Tanya) Remchuk JR of Corning; 4 grandchildren, Logan Remchuk, Breanna Remchuk, Evan Morse & Lexi Remchuk; several brothers & sisters.

At Bill’s request there will be no calling hours.  Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY. 

Bill’s family request that memorial contributions in his name be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
