{"id":1152,"date":"2013-01-09T22:52:33","date_gmt":"2013-01-09T22:52:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=1152"},"modified":"2013-01-09T22:52:33","modified_gmt":"2013-01-09T22:52:33","slug":"marguerite-lorraine-cullen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=1152","title":{"rendered":"Marguerite Lorraine Cullen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?attachment_id=1153\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1153\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1153\" title=\"Marguerite Cullen Photo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Marguerite-Cullen-Photo-250x347.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"347\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Marguerite-Cullen-Photo-250x347.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Marguerite-Cullen-Photo-200x277.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Marguerite-Cullen-Photo-1024x1421.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Marguerite-Cullen-Photo.jpg 1143w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a>Marguerite Lorraine Cullen \u2013 (89) \u2013 a resident of McAuley Manor, went to Heaven Wednesday morning (January 9, 2013) following a long illness.<\/p>\n<p>A native &amp; life resident of Hornell, she was born Christmas Eve 1923 to William &amp; Cecelia (Horton) Furlong.<\/p>\n<p>Marguerite attended Hornell High School, Class of 42 and later earned her Nurse\u2019s Aide Certificate.\u00a0 Throughout the years, she worked as a \u201cPrivate Duty Care Giver\u201d and also was employed at Hornell Gardens &amp; Clancy\u2019s Nursing homes.<\/p>\n<p>She had been a communicant of St. Ignatius Loyola Church and more recently was a communicant of<br \/>\nSt. Ann\u2019s Church.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In her younger years, Marguerite was a tap dancer and actually won $100 in a tap-dancing contest in Hornell in 1937.\u00a0 She enjoyed playing bingo and also liked to make an occasional wager at OTB.\u00a0 Mostly she will be remembered as a loving and caring Mother and Grandmother. Affectionately, known as \u201cGigi\u201d and \u201cGramma Maggie\u201d<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Marguerite was married on August 30, 1945 to John \u201cJack\u201d Cullen who died in 1981.\u00a0 She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, William \u201cDuke\u201d Furlong and Robert \u201cBob\u201d Furlong; as well as several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are 3 sons, Joseph \u201cJoe\u201d Cullen of Hammondsport, John Cullen of Hornell and Robert Cullen of Hornell; 3 daughters, Patricia Kelleher of Hornell, Linda (Thomas) Panter of Hornell and Mary Margaret Cullen of Painted Post; 1 brother, Donny (Bonnie) Furlong of Rochester; 1 sister, Carolyn Prattico of Rochester; her 12 Grandchildren, Lisa (Randy) Bebout, Jim (Kim) Kelleher, Michael\u00a0 Kelleher, Kelly (Jeff) Brock, Bil (Erin) Panter, Tommy (Angela) Panter, Kristy Panter, Christine Cullen, Patrick Cullen, Brandy Cullen, Holly Cullen and Christopher Cullen. 21 Great-grandchildren; several Nieces &amp; Nephews.\u00a0 Other relatives include her brothers-in-law &amp; sisters-in-law.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe family of Marguerite Lorraine Cullen will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY where funeral &amp; committal services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 6:00 PM with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating.\u00a0 Burial will be in St. Mary\u2019s Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>Marguerite\u2019s family request that memorial contributions in her name be made to Pathways, inc, 129 Forest Dr., Painted Post, NY 14870.\u00a0 Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Marguerite Lorraine Cullen \u2013 (89) \u2013 a resident of McAuley Manor, went to Heaven Wednesday morning (January 9, 2013) following a long illness.
