Caruso \u2013 (62) \u2013 of 475 Seneca Rd., North Hornell and also a resident of Largo, FL, died Monday evening (February 18, 2013) at her home in North Hornell, following a lengthy illness.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Hornell on August 26, 1950, she was the daughter of Anthony &amp; Phyllis (Altieri) Parlave.<\/p>\n<p>Linda grew up in Hornell and was a graduate of St. Ann\u2019s School.\u00a0 She later graduated from Hornell High School (class of 1968).<\/p>\n<p>She was employed for about 2 years as a secretary for the State of New York.\u00a0 Linda also worked for several years for Steuben County A.R.C. in Hornell, where she also volunteered.\u00a0 For many years, Linda served as bookkeeper &amp; secretary for Caruso\u2019s Construction, retiring about 3 years ago.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Linda was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and a communicant of St. Ann\u2019s Church.\u00a0 Although she enjoyed working with pottery and also refurbishing furniture, her true joy in life was derived from her selfless devotion to her family and friends.\u00a0 Her love for her husband, son, parents, brother, sisters &amp; grandchildren was boundless.\u00a0 She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren\u2019s school activities (soccer games and swimming).\u00a0 She also followed hockey, figure skating, and hoped that she would see another triple-crown winner in the Kentucky Derby.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Anthony \u201cButch\u201d Parlave.<\/p>\n<p>She was married on October 7, 1970 to Michael \u201cMike\u201d Caruso who survives.\u00a0 Also surviving are: her son Sean (Andrea) Caruso of Geneseo, NY; 4 sisters, Phyllis (Jim) Conway-Giglio of Hornell, Rosalie Lucas of Largo, FL, Gloria (Rodney) Cone of Hornell and Mary (Don) Canfield of Largo, FL; 3 grandchildren, Cameron Caruso, Taylor Caruso &amp; Michael Caruso; several cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, her friend Kay Terwillerger, and her dog \u201cSpyro\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>At Linda\u2019s request there will be no prior calling hours.\u00a0 Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, (February 23, 2013) at 10:00 AM at St. Ann\u2019s Church.\u00a0 Burial will be in St. Mary\u2019s Cemetery.\u00a0 In lieu of flowers, Linda\u2019s family request that donations to the Steuben County ARC, 1 Arc Way, Bath, NY 14810.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nFuneral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Linda L.
