life resident of Hornell, she was born November 18, 1953 and was the daughter of James &amp; Marion (Baker) Clark.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Peg grew up in Hornell where she attended Lincoln School and St. Ann\u2019s School.\u00a0 She later graduated from Hornell High School (class of 1971).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0She was employed for 28 years as a secretary at the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) retiring in 2009.\u00a0 Peggy was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and a livelong communicant of St. Ignatius Loyola Church.\u00a0 She had also been a member of the Hornell Elks Lodge.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Peggy will be remembered as a warm &amp; gentle woman with a heart of gold.\u00a0 Although she lived a simply, quiet life, she always found time to laugh with her friends or lend a helping hand to anyone in need.\u00a0 Her true joy in life, however, was simply spending time with her family and caring for her dogs.\u00a0 She will be truly missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her!<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rosemary.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Surviving are 2 sons, Jamie (Andrea) Kull of Hemlock and Mark Kull of Rochester; 1 daughter, Erin Rice of Brooklyn, NY; 3 sisters, Kay Miller of Winchester, VA, Elizabeth Clark of Roanoke, VA and Maureen Clark of Wayland; 1 brother, Mike (Donna) Clark of Hornell; several nieces &amp; nephews, including her special niece, Kim Clark-Kelleher.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The family of Margaret Anne \u201cPeggy\u201d Rice will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 PM \u2013 7:00 PM at the <strong>Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.\u00a0 <\/strong>A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 2:00 PM at St. Ann\u2019s Church.\u00a0 Burial will be in St. Mary\u2019s Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Peggy\u2019s family request that memorial contributions in her name be made to the Vincent House, 310 Second Ave., Wayland, NY 14572.\u00a0 Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Margaret Anne \u201cPeggy\u201d Rice \u2013 59 \u2013 of 17 Harrington Pl., Hornell, went to be with the Lord on Sunday (March 3, 2013) surrounded by her family, following a courageous battle with cancer. \u00a0A native &amp;
