Rohan \u2013 80 \u2013 of 250 Grand St., Hornell, died Saturday evening (June 15, 2013) at St. James Mercy Hospital, following a brief illness.<\/p>\n<p>A native &amp; life resident of Hornell, she was born August 9, 1932 and was the daughter of George &amp; Bernadine (Green) Phillips.<\/p>\n<p>Ann was a graduate of St. Ann\u2019s School and later graduated from Hornell High School (class of 1950).\u00a0 She had been employed for several years as a teller at Steuben Trust Company and briefly worked at Corbin Wood Products and also in the Admissions Office of the former Bethesda Community Hospital.\u00a0 For about 18 years, Ann was employed as an underwriter at Robert A. Sweeney Insurance and most recently for Tom White Insurance.<\/p>\n<p>She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and had been a longtime member of St. Ignatius Loyola Church where she would often help out in the parish office.\u00a0 Currently, she was a member of St. Ann\u2019s Church.\u00a0 Ann had been a member of the St. Ann\u2019s Mother\u2019s Club and also the Ladies of Columbus.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Ann was an avid reader and especially enjoyed reading mysteries.\u00a0 However, her true joy in life was simply being with her loving family &#8212; especially her grandchildren &amp; great-grandchildren.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Phillips.<\/p>\n<p>She was married on January 16, 1953 to Thomas A. Rohan who survives.\u00a0 Also surviving are 4 sons, Tim Rohan of Hornell, Mark (Barb) Rohan of Nashua, NH, Eddie (Stacy) Rohan of Windsor, NY and Tom (Kathy) Rohan of Mesquite, TX; 1 daughter, Michelle (Doug) Shinebarger of San Diego, CA;<br \/>\n4 sisters, Mary Kelleher of Hornell, Sarah Wheeler of Burbank, CA, Susan Anderson of Hornell and Marjorie (Kirby) Noye of Pittsford; 3 brothers, Deacon George (Mary Lou) Phillips of Endwell, James (Nancy) Phillips of Arkport and Michael Phillips of Hornell;15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces &amp; nephews.<\/p>\n<p>The family of Ann M. Rohan will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 PM \u2013 7:00 PM at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.\u00a0 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at St. Ann\u2019s Church.\u00a0 Burial will be in St. Mary\u2019s Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>Ann\u2019s family request that memorial contributions in her name be made to either St. James Hospice Unite, 411 Canisteo St., Hornell, NY 14843 or the McAuley Manor Activities Fund, 1 Bethesda Dr., North Hornell, NY 14843.\u00a0 Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ann M.
