McMahon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?attachment_id=1402\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1402\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1402\" title=\"Michael McMahon Photo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Michael-McMahon-Photo-250x349.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"349\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Michael-McMahon-Photo-250x349.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Michael-McMahon-Photo-200x279.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Michael-McMahon-Photo.jpg 801w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a>Michael E. \u201cMike\u201d McMahon \u2013 68 \u2013 of 803 Karr Valley Rd., Almond, died Friday afternoon (September 20, 2013) at his home, following a long illness.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Great Bend, KS on October 3, 1944, he was the son of Arthur &amp; Genevieve (George) McMahon.<\/p>\n<p>Mike grew up in almond and was a graduate of Alfred-Almond Central School (class of 1963).\u00a0 He had been employed for a time at Snyder Electric in Almond, Stuart\u2019s Pools in Almond and also at Wellsville Preheater.\u00a0 For over 30 years, Mike worked at Foster-Wheeler Corporation in Dansville as a Welder &amp; Boiler Tender.<\/p>\n<p>In his younger years, Mike enjoyed hunting &amp; fishing.\u00a0 His greatest joy in life however was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.\u00a0 He always loved attending their sporting events, plays, chorus recitals and band recitals.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>He was married on April 8, 1967 to the former Cheryl Olin who survives.\u00a0 Also surviving are 1 son, Shane (JoAnne) McMahon of Almond; 1 daughter, Shannon McMahon of Almond; 1 brother, Daniel (Arlene) McMahon of Almond; 1 sister, Helen (Stuart) Klausner of Hilton Head, SC; 4 grandchildren, Philip (Brittany) Sutton, Jamie Sutton-Reitnauer, Andrea McMahon and Jessica McMahon; many nieces, nephews &amp; cousins.<\/p>\n<p>The family of Michael E. \u201cMike\u201d McMahon will receive friends on Monday from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Buena Vista Wesleyan Church, 6034 county Rt. 69, Canisteo, NY where a funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 5:00 PM with Rev. Edward Crandall officiating.\u00a0 Burial will be in Fairview cemetery, Almond, NY.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.<\/p>\n<p>Mike\u2019s family request that memorial contributions in his name be made to Allegany County Cancer Services, (Atention Lori Ballengee), 100 South Highland Ave., Wellsville, NY 14895 or to the Andover Lions Club, PO Box 772, Andover, NY 14806<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Michael E. \u201cMike\u201d McMahon \u2013 68 \u2013 of 803 Karr Valley Rd., Almond, died Friday afternoon (September 20, 2013) at his home, following a long illness.
