Ray Conine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?attachment_id=1535\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1535\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1535\" title=\"Clarence Codine Photo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Clarence-Codine-Photo-250x298.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"298\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Clarence-Codine-Photo-250x298.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Clarence-Codine-Photo-200x238.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Clarence-Codine-Photo.jpg 561w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a>Clarence R. \u201cRay\u201d Conine \u2013 78 \u2013 of 23 Adsit St., Hornell, died unexpectedly Friday morning (January 31, 2013) at his home.<\/p>\n<p>A native &amp; life resident of Hornell, he was born June 29, 1935 and was the son of Fred &amp; Meta (Skinner) Conine.<\/p>\n<p>Ray was a graduate of Hornell High School (class of 1953) and later attended Ithaca College.\u00a0 He was employed for several years at JC Penney\u2019s in Hornell\u00a0 and for many years served as an insurance agent in the Hornell area.\u00a0 For several years he was employed as assistant manager at the former Security Trust Bank in Hornell.<\/p>\n<p>Ray always had a love of animals and for many years owned &amp; operated riverside Pet Store in Hornell.\u00a0 Throughout the years he owned &amp; cared for many dogs.<\/p>\n<p>He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Manry.<\/p>\n<p>Ray was married for 55 years to the former Rose Cartella who survives.\u00a0 Also surviving are 3 sons, Alan (Becky) Conine of Rochester, Andy (Kathy) Conine of Hornell and Charlie Conine of Rochester; 4 grandchildren, Kirsten (Evan) Cogansparger, Marissa (Ryan) Goodwin, Michael Conine and Kyle Conine; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces &amp; nephews.<\/p>\n<p>The family of Clarence R. \u201cRay\u201d Conine will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 PM \u2013 6:00 PM at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY where a memorial service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 6:00 PM with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating.<\/p>\n<p>Ray\u2019s family request that memorial contributions in his name be made to Hornell Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Road, Hornell, NY 14843.\u00a0 Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Clarence R. \u201cRay\u201d Conine \u2013 78 \u2013 of 23 Adsit St., Hornell, died unexpectedly Friday morning (January 31, 2013) at his home.
