\"\"<\/a>Mary Rose Daniels \u2013 (94) \u2013 formerly of 44 Davenport St., Hornell died Monday morning (March 3, 2014) at Latta Road Nursing Facility where she had resided for the past year.<\/p>\n

Born in Hornell on June 22, 1919 and was the daughter of Frank & Catherine (Surra) DeGaetano.<\/p>\n

Mary grew up in Hornell and was a graduate of St. Ann\u2019s School and later attended Hornell High School.\u00a0 She was employed for several years at the former Dolores Dress Factory and later at the former Cameo Shop in Hornell.\u00a0 For several years Mary worked for her brother at DeGaetano\u2019s Shoe Store in Hornell.<\/p>\n

She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and a member of St. Ann\u2019s Church where, in her younger years, taught Religious Education classes.\u00a0 She was a life member of the G. Carducci Lodge (Sons of Italy).\u00a0 Mary enjoyed spending time in her kitchen — cooking & baking — and was well known for her delicious cakes.<\/p>\n

In 1941 she was married to Nicholas \u201cNick\u201d Daniels who died October 31, 2001.\u00a0 Mary was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Mateo DeGaetano, Matthew DeGaetano and Vincent \u201cDoty\u201d DeGaetano; 3 sisters, Vincena Dodd, Yolanda Weidman and Domenica \u201cDee\u201d Bridge.<\/p>\n

Surviving are 2 daughters, Pam (Bill) Fenlon of Rochester and Diane (Mike) Sufra of Rochester; 1 son, Mike (Karen) Daniels of Hornell; 3 sisters, Julie Delaney of Hornell, Frances \u201cFran\u201d (Jim) Crain of Hornell and Ann Marie Potter of Hornell; 6 grandsons; 5 great-grandchildren; many nieces & nephews.<\/p>\n

The family of Mary Rose Daniels will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 PM \u2013 7:00 PM at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.\u00a0 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday at St. Ann\u2019s Church with burial in St. Mary\u2019s Cemetery.<\/p>\n
