Donovan, Jr. \u2013 59 \u2013 died early Wednesday morning (March 19, 2014).\u00a0\u00a0 &#8220;Uncle Joe&#8221; or &#8220;Cowboy&#8221;, as he is known to his friends and family, passed away in Greenwood, where he resided since retiring.\u00a0 His friend Betty was by his side.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nHe was born in Syracuse on September 2, 1954 and was the beloved son of Kathryn and the late Joseph Donovan.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nJoe was blessed with several nieces and nephews.\u00a0 Uncle Joe loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He taught many of his nieces and nephews to ride quads and to hunt. His farm, as he called it, was his joy and he wanted all to share in it.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nIn addition to his mother, Kathryn, he is survived by his sisters Claire Cummings, Mary Farkas, Debbie Malfitano, Kara Donegan, Teresa Schofield; brothers Jerry, Patrick and David.<\/p>\n<p>He is reunited with his best friend and brother, Michael, who passed away in 2009.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nAt Joe\u2019s request there will be no calling hours.\u00a0 Services will be held Saturday, March 22 at 11:00am at St. Ann&#8217;s Church, Onondaga Blvd., Syracuse, NY 13215.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Joseph E.
