Mahany"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?attachment_id=1689\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1689\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1689\" title=\"Tim Mahany\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Tim-Mahany-250x289.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"289\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Tim-Mahany-250x289.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Tim-Mahany-200x231.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Tim-Mahany-1024x1185.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Tim-Mahany.jpg 1677w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a>Timothy P. \u201cTim\u201d Mahany \u2013 60 \u2013 of New Jersey, formerly of Arkport, died unexpectedly early Thursday morning (May 8, 2014) at his home.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Hornell on September 27, 1953, he was the son of Patrick &amp; Phyllis (Milliard) Mahany.<\/p>\n<p>Tim grew up in Arkport and was a graduate of Arkport Central School (class of 1972).\u00a0 Following high school, he began working in the family potato farm (Patrick E. Mahany &amp; Sons Inc) and was involved in the day-to-day operation of the business.<\/p>\n<p>After working on the family farm for a few years, Tim enlisted in the US Army and served his country for 4 years.\u00a0 While in the Army, he was stationed in Germany for about a year.\u00a0 Following his discharge from the military, Tim returned to Arkport and for several years continued working with his father &amp; family on the potato farm.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>For the past 35 years, Tim was employed primarily as a truck driver and resided in several locations, including Colorado, Maine, Florida and New York.\u00a0 For the past 14 years, Tim has lived in New Jersey and served as a Transport Driver for Delta Automotive Service as a car carrier.<\/p>\n<p>Tim was a former member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and a communicant of St. Ann\u2019s Church.\u00a0 He was member of the Arkport American Legion.\u00a0 Tim was an avid Ford Mustang Enthusiast and extremely proud of his 2007 Ford Mustang Convertible.\u00a0 He also had a love of music, especially rock &amp; roll and classical music and was a fan of Andrea Bocelli.\u00a0 One of Tim\u2019s favorite pastimes was simply enjoying a beer, gazing at the stars and sitting around a campfire with family &amp; friends.<\/p>\n<p>He was preceded in death by his son, Anthony \u201cTony\u201d Mahany who died in 1999 and also his mother, Phyllis Mahany who died in 2002.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are Violeta Iannuzzi with whom he resided; his daughters, Nicole (Mark) Berry of Syracuse and Danielle (Ryan) Bartorillo of Syracuse; his father, Patrick E. Mahany of Arkport; 3 brothers, Patrick (Karen) Mahany, JR of Silverthorne, CO, Sean (Nancy) Mahany of Scottsdale, AZ and Kevin (Christine) Mahany of Arkport; his sister, Michelle (Alan) Eddison of Stuart FL; 5 grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews &amp; cousins.<\/p>\n<p>The family of Timothy P. \u201cTim\u201d Mahany will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 PM \u2013 7:00 PM at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.\u00a0 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at<br \/>\n10:00 AM at St. Ann\u2019s Church with Father John Cullen officiating.\u00a0 Burial will be in St. Mary\u2019s Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>Tim\u2019s family request that memorial contributions in his name be made to the Arkport American Legion, West Ave., Arkport, NY 14807.\u00a0 Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Timothy-Mahany.pdf\">click here<\/a> to print a form.<\/p>\n<p>In honor of Tim\u2019s service to his country, the American Flag at the Dagon Funeral Home will be flown at half-staff.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Timothy P. \u201cTim\u201d Mahany \u2013 60 \u2013 of New Jersey, formerly of Arkport, died unexpectedly early Thursday morning (May 8, 2014) at his home.
