Wulforst"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?attachment_id=1836\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1836\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1836\" title=\"James Wulforst Photo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/James-Wulforst-Photo-200x196.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"196\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/James-Wulforst-Photo-200x196.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/James-Wulforst-Photo-250x246.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/James-Wulforst-Photo.jpg 964w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a>James F. \u201cJim\u201d Wulforst \u2013 (83) \u2013 of 2294 County Rd. 54, Fremont, died Thursday afternoon (September 25, 2014) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, following a brief illness.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Hicksville, Long Island on January 13, 1931, he was the son of Henry \u201cSam\u201d &amp; Helen \u201cNellie\u201d Wulforst.\u00a0 He had lived in the Hornell area since he was 11 years old.<\/p>\n<p>Jim attended St. Ignatius School and had been a communicant of St. Ignatius Parish in Hicksville and was a communicant of both St. Ignatius Loyola Church and St. Ann\u2019s Church in Hornell.\u00a0 He attended Arkport Central School.<\/p>\n<p>For about 6 years, Jim worked for Schultheis\u2019 Farms and for 3 years was employed at Hornell Construction Company.\u00a0 He worked for 38 years for Elmira Local Union #1358 and for many years was involved with Wulforst Potato Farming.\u00a0 He was an avid New York Giants football fan and in his younger years was an avid NY Giants baseball fan.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>He was married in 1957 in St. Ann\u2019s Church to the former Bonnie Ordway who died August 27, 2005.\u00a0 He was also preceded in death by his sister, Carol Wulforst R.S.M. (Sisters of Mercy).<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are 2 daughters, Debra Lawrence of Hornell &amp; Mary (Charles) Hasenauer of Greece, NY; 1 son, Jim (Sherry) Wulforst of Arkport; 2 brothers, Charles \u201cCharlie\u201d Wulforst of Fremont and Henry (Lorraine) Wulforst of Fremont; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; nieces &amp; nephews.<\/p>\n<p>The family of James F. \u201cJim\u201d Wulforst will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.\u00a0 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at St. Ann\u2019s Church with burial in St. Mary\u2019s Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>Jim&#8217;s family requests tht memorial contributions in his name be made to Our Lady of the Valley, 27 Erie Ave., Hornell, NY 14843.\u00a0 Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/james-Wulforst.pdf\">click here <\/a>to print a form.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>James F. \u201cJim\u201d Wulforst \u2013 (83) \u2013 of 2294 County Rd. 54, Fremont, died Thursday afternoon (September 25, 2014) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, following a brief illness.
