Lamb"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?attachment_id=1875\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1875\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1875\" title=\"Stephen Lamb Photo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Stephen-Lamb-Photo-200x215.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"215\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Stephen-Lamb-Photo-200x215.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Stephen-Lamb-Photo-250x269.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Stephen-Lamb-Photo-1024x1102.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Stephen-Lamb-Photo.jpg 1914w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a>Stephen A. \u201cSteve\u201d Lamb \u2013 (62) \u2013 of 1190 County route 66, Hornell, died early Wednesday morning (October 15, 2014) at McAuley, following a long battle with Hemangiopericytoma, Anaplastic Astrocytoma, which left him totally paralyzed.<\/p>\n<p>A native &amp; life resident of Hornell, he was born May 30, 1952 and was the son of Donald &amp; Adeline (Lester) Lamb.<\/p>\n<p>Steve grew up in Hornell and was a graduate of Hornell High School (class of 1971).\u00a0 Following graduation, he learned to operate heavy duty construction equipment.<\/p>\n<p>For over 36 years, Steve fulfilled his dream as a firefighter for the Hornell City Fire Department.\u00a0 In 1992, he was promoted to the rank of Captain, a position that he held until 2011 when he retired due to ill health.\u00a0 For many years, he was a member of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF).\u00a0 He had also been a member of the former St. Paul\u2019s Lutheran Church of Hornell.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In addition to his service with the Hornell Fire Department, Steve was also a licensed carpenter, electrician and plumber for most of his adult life.\u00a0 For many years he owned &amp; operated \u201cPoor Man\u2019s Plumbing\u201d.\u00a0 He and his son, Matt worked many jobs together over the phone, helping Matt with electric, plumbing etc.<\/p>\n<p>In his younger years, Steve enjoyed hunting and throughout the years he enjoyed photography.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 However, other than his family, his true joy was the Hornell Fire Department.\u00a0 Going to work was never a task, it was simply a joy.\u00a0 He will be sadly missed by all of his fellow firefighters at the fire station.<\/p>\n<p>He was married on May 6, 1983 to the former Judy Solo who survives.\u00a0 Also surviving are his daughter, Amy (Phil) Quattrini of New Market, MD; his son, Matthew Lamb of Ashburn, VA; 2 brothers, William Lamb of Albany and Ronald Lamb of Alabama; 2 grandchildren, Logan Quattrini and Makenzi Quattrini; nieces &amp; nephews.<\/p>\n<p>The family of Stephen A. \u201cSteve\u201d Lamb will receive friends on Friday from 3:00 PM \u2013 7:00 PM at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.\u00a0 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. Ann\u2019s Church.\u00a0 Final interment will be in St. Mary\u2019s Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>Steve\u2019s family request that memorial contributions in his name be made to St. Jude Children\u2019s Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 300, Memphis, TN, 38148.\u00a0 Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Stephen-Lamb.pdf\">click here<\/a> to print a form.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Stephen A. \u201cSteve\u201d Lamb \u2013 (62) \u2013 of 1190 County route 66, Hornell, died early Wednesday morning (October 15, 2014) at McAuley, following a long battle with Hemangiopericytoma, Anaplastic Astrocytoma, which left him totally paralyzed.
