\"\"<\/a>Lawrence E. \u201cLarry\u201d Kame \u2013 77 \u2013 of 1073 Sharps Hill Road, Arkport, died early Wednesday morning at Rochester General Hospital following a brief illness.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Born in Hornell on October 2, 1937, he was the son of Floyd & Ruth (Bossard) Kame.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Larry, affectionately known as \u201cHuck\u201d, grew up in Arkport and was a graduate of Arkport Central School (class of 1955).\u00a0 He was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving his country from 1958 \u2013 1962.\u00a0 While serving in the military, he was stationed at several locations including Iceland and Morocco.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In 1962, Larry began working for AT&T which later became New York Telephone and then Verizon.\u00a0 He retired in 1992 as line manager following 30 years of service.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Larry had been a member of the Arkport American Legion, Hornell Moose and the G. Carducci Lodge (Sons of Italy).\u00a0 He was and avid New York Yankee fan but his greatest joy was spending time with his family — especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He was married on February 27, 1960 to the former Muriel Norton who died May 1, 2002.\u00a0 He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Theresa \u201cTerri\u201d Kame who died in 1982.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Larry was married on December 19, 2003 to the former Joanne McMichael Rechichi who survives.\u00a0 Also surviving are 2 daughters, Tracy (Don) Wagoner of Canton, GA and Lori (Tim) FitzGerald of Oak Park, CA; 2 step-daughters, Christine Yanni of Bath and Mary (Ron Campbell) Reynolds of Hornell; 1 step-son, Thomas (Yvonne) Rechichi of Arkport; 2 sisters, Irene Tychi of Hornell and Betty (Richard) Dresser of Arkport; 1 brother, Vincent (Patricia) Kame of Owego; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The family of Lawrence E. \u201cLarry\u201d Kame will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 PM \u2013 7:00 PM at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY<\/strong> where a funeral service with full military honors will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating.\u00a0 Burial will be in Heritage Hill Cemetery, Arkport, NY.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Larry\u2019s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name be made to Rochester General Hospital (Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit), 1425 Portland Ave., Rochester, NY 14621.\u00a0 Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home or click here <\/a>to print a memorial form.<\/p>\n
