{"id":2243,"date":"2016-01-02T21:59:46","date_gmt":"2016-01-02T21:59:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=2243"},"modified":"2016-01-02T22:09:42","modified_gmt":"2016-01-02T22:09:42","slug":"francis-frank-losecco","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=2243","title":{"rendered":"Francis &#8220;Frank&#8221; Losecco"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?attachment_id=2244\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2244\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-2244\" title=\"Francis Losecco Photo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Francis-Losecco-Photo-200x234.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"234\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Francis-Losecco-Photo-200x234.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Francis-Losecco-Photo-250x292.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Francis-Losecco-Photo-1024x1199.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a>Francis J. \u201cFrank\u201d Losecco \u2013 86 \u2013 of 1190 County Route 66 (Green Acre Trailer Court), Hornell, died Friday evening (January 1, 2016) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, following a long illness.<\/p>\n<p>A lifelong resident of Hornell, he was born on August 24, 1929 and was the son of Anthony &amp; Josephine (Marino) Losecco.<\/p>\n<p>Frank attended Hornell High School and later was employed at the former Stern &amp; Stern Textile Corporation.\u00a0 He was drafted in 1950 and served his country as a member of the US Army during the Korean Conflict.<\/p>\n<p>Following his honorable discharge from the US Army, Frank returned to Hornell and resumed working at Stern &amp; Stern Textile Corporation.\u00a0 He worked for the company for a total of 16 years.\u00a0 For several years, Frank served as a \u201chandy-man\u201d at the former Cameo Shop, and throughout the years as a self employed house painter.\u00a0 For about 16 years, he was employed as a machinist at the former Erie Railroad, Erie-Lackawanna Railroad and Conrail.\u00a0 For several years he worked at Morrison-Knudson (MK) and later was employed at Alstom Corporation, \u201cretiring\u201d in 1993.\u00a0 Following his \u201cretirement\u201d, Frank enjoyed helping his son by working at the former Fran\u2019s Locker Room and Losecco\u2019s Family Market.\u00a0 He officially retired 11 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Frank had a deep love of music and especially enjoyed listening to some of the great Italian singers such as Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Louie Prima.\u00a0 He also enjoyed dancing during the Big Band Era.\u00a0 Along with his son, he loved rooting for the Miami Dolphins.<\/p>\n<p>He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Marie Losecco who died in 1972; 1 brother, Salvatore \u201cToddy\u201d Losecco; 4 sisters, Annie Messina, Eva Armetta , Julia Schiera and Felecia Losecco.<\/p>\n<p>Frank was married on October 6, 1951 (64 years) to the former Mary Ann Secondo who survives.\u00a0 Also surviving are 2 daughters, Regina \u201cGina\u201d Gurrola of Mesa, AZ and Theresa (Chuck) Hallas of Hornell; 1 son, Francis \u201cFran\u201d (Lynda) Losecco of Canisteo; 1 sister, Mary Losecco of Hornell; 1 brother, Anthony Losecco of Cleveland, OH;<br \/>\n7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces &amp; nephews.<\/p>\n<p>The family of Francis J. \u201cFrank\u201d Losecco will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.\u00a0 A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at St. Ann\u2019s Church.\u00a0 Final interment with full military honors will be in St. Mary\u2019s Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>Frank\u2019s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name be made to either Strong Memorial Hospital, 4-1200 Unit Palliative Care, 601 Elmwood Ave., Rochester, NY 14642 or to Visiting Nurse Foundation Inc., PO Box 270441, Rochester, NY 14627.\u00a0 Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Francis-Losecco.pdf\">CLICK HERE<\/a> to print a memorial form.<\/p>\n<p>In recognition to Frank\u2019s service to his country during the Korean Conflict, the American Flag at the Dagon Funeral Home will be flown at half-staff.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Francis J. \u201cFrank\u201d Losecco \u2013 86 \u2013 of 1190 County Route 66 (Green Acre Trailer Court), Hornell, died Friday evening (January 1, 2016) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, following a long illness.
