Gallese"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Francis W. \u201cFrank\u201d Gallese \u2013 (85) \u2013 of 1190 County Route 66 (Green Acres Trailer Court), Hornell, died Monday evening (July 12, 2010) at McAuley Manor, following a long illness.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Hornell on October 17, 1924, he was the son of Carmine &amp; Nicoletta (DeSanto) Gallese.<\/p>\n<p>Frank, affectionately known as \u201cPeep\u201d, was a graduate of St. Ann\u2019s School and later attended Hornell High School.\u00a0 He was a veteran of WWII, serving with the US Navy in the South Pacific.<\/p>\n<p>Peep resided in Buffalo for nearly 25 years where he operated various Service Stations.\u00a0 He returned to Hornell in 1971 to own &amp; operate Gallese\u2019s Auto Service.<\/p>\n<p>He was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and a communicant of St. Ann\u2019s Church.\u00a0 He had also been a member of the Hornell American Legion and the Hornell VFW.\u00a0 Peep loved his family and enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting &amp; fishing.<\/p>\n<p>Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Carmine &amp; Nicoletta; 4 brothers, Angelo \u201cHarp\u201d Gallese, Dominick \u201cBill\u201d Gallese, Charles Gallese and Donald Gallese; 5 sisters, Rose Marino, Jovenia \u201cDena\u201d Libordi, Josephine Gallese, Josephine Gallese and Mary Felli.<\/p>\n<p>He was married on May 5, 1950 to the former Vivian Glover who survives.\u00a0 Also surviving are his son, Francis Roy (Maria) Gallese of Rochester; his daughter, Mary Ann (John) Kenefick of Clarence;\u00a0 2 sisters, Rita Roast of Rochester and Lucy Wiley of Hornell; 7 grandchildren, Karlene Gallese, Gianna Gallese, Carmen Gallese, Zachary Gallese, Katherine Kenefick, John Kenefick, &amp;Courtney Kenefick; 1great-grandson, Jacob Kenefick-Sivic and many nieces &amp; nephews.<\/p>\n<p>The family of Francis \u201cPeep\u201d Gallese will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 PM\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0 7:00 PM at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.\u00a0 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Ann\u2019s Church with burial in St. Mary\u2019s Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>Frank\u2019s family request that any memorial contributions in his name be made to the Hornell animal Shelter, 7649 Industrial Park Road, Hornell, NY 14843.\u00a0 Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Francis W. \u201cFrank\u201d Gallese \u2013 (85) \u2013 of 1190 County Route 66 (Green Acres Trailer Court), Hornell, died Monday evening (July 12, 2010) at McAuley Manor, following a long illness.
