{"id":2705,"date":"2017-02-22T19:47:43","date_gmt":"2017-02-22T19:47:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=2705"},"modified":"2017-02-22T19:52:52","modified_gmt":"2017-02-22T19:52:52","slug":"cheyanna-marie-nickel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=2705","title":{"rendered":"Cheyanna Marie Nickel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-2706\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Cheyanna-Nickel-200x306.jpg\" alt=\"Cheyanna Nickel\" width=\"200\" height=\"306\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Cheyanna-Nickel-200x306.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Cheyanna-Nickel.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/>Cheyanna Marie Nickel \u2013 27 \u2013 of 236 Main St., Dansville, formerly of Hornell, died Monday evening (February 20, 2017) at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, following a long illness.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Hornell on May 31, 1989, she was the daughter of Michele Nickel and Charles Chriscaden.<\/p>\n<p>Cheyanna resided most of her life in Hornell and was a graduate of Hornell High School (class of 2010).\u00a0\u00a0 She had lived in Dansville for the past year.\u00a0 Cheyanna was a member of New Bread Ministries for many years.<\/p>\n<p>She had been employed as a delivery person for the Hornell-Canisteo Penn E Saver and also enjoyed helping with fundraising events at the Arkport Fire Department.\u00a0 Cheyanna overcame many obstacles in her life and was a former participant of Special Olympics.\u00a0 One of her fondest memories was her trip to Honolulu, Hawaii to meet her favorite celebrity, Dog the Bounty Hunter, a trip granted to her by the Make-A-Wish Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Cheyanna enjoyed crocheting, knitting, coloring &amp; playing video games.\u00a0 She was a diehard Buffalo Bills Football Fan and an avid NASCAR fan and especially loved rooting for her favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt, JR.<\/p>\n<p>She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Robert Nickel; her paternal grandmother, Helen Ryan Chriscaden; step-grandfather John L. Easton; and step-grandfather, Don Elliott.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are her mother &amp; step-father, Michele Nickel and Terry Muchler of Hornell; her father &amp; step-mother, Charlie &amp; Felicia Chriscaden of Hornell; her brothers, Joseph Manley, Casey Chriscaden, Chuck Chriscaden, Timothy Houk, Jonathan Chriscaden, &amp; Cody Aultman; her sisters, Kristen LaFleur and Jessica ZaZubec; maternal grandmother, Bertha \u201cBert\u201d Nickel of Arkport; paternal grandfather, Laverne Chriscaden of Canisteo; step grandparents, Paul &amp; Mary Muchler of Arkport, Christine Elliott of Ohio, Emma Jean Easton of Tennessee; her special friend, Jon Harvey of Dansville; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.<\/p>\n<p>The family of Cheyanna Marie Nickel will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 PM \u2013 2:00 PM at the <strong>Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY <\/strong>where a Memorial Service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 2:00 PM with Bishop James Hall officiating.<\/p>\n<p>Cheyanna\u2019s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 3025 Monroe Avenue &#8211; Suite 200, Rochester, NY 14618.\u00a0 Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Cheyanna-Nickel.pdf\">click here<\/a> to print a memorial form.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cheyanna Marie Nickel \u2013 27 \u2013 of 236 Main St., Dansville, formerly of Hornell, died Monday evening (February 20, 2017) at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, following a long illness.
