Pam was the beloved sister of Thomas Clancy, Jr. and sister-in-law of Anna Clancy. She leaves countless aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.<\/p>\n<p>Pam graduated from Berlin (NH) High School and Plymouth State University. Upon graduation, she quickly settled in her lifelong vocation as a teacher at the Academy of Holy Names in Albany, NY, where she continued to teach until 2016. In her thirty-six years at Holy Names she received recognition as the school\u2019s Teacher of the Year, and as the Albany Times Union Teacher of the Week. More importantly, she touched the lives of innumerable students in the classroom, and in the after-school and summer programs she created and ran. In the words of one student, \u201cShe taught us to be brave, to love learning, to write in cursive (despite strong resistance!), to care for others, and to be strong.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pam cherished her role as Holly, Kate &amp; Laura\u2019s aunt. She spoiled them, and blessed them with the opportunity to participate in Holy Names\u2019 summer programs where they loved spending time with their aunt. She was \u201cBean\u201d to them, and always will be.<\/p>\n<p>A funeral will be held at St. Ann\u2019s Church in Hornell, NY on May 20th at 10:00 AM with a short ceremony following at St. Mary\u2019s cemetery. A memorial celebration of Pam\u2019s life will be held on June 10th, 11:00 AM at the Academy of the Holy Names, Lower School chapel in Albany, NY<\/p>\n<p>Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.<\/p>\n<p>Pam\u2019s family request that in lieu of flowers, donations in her name be made to Becky\u2019s House, C\/O St. Peter\u2019s Hospital Foundation, 319 South Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12214.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pamela Jane Clancy, 59, of Delmar, New York, died peacefully on April 19, 2017 after a long illness.
