Kelly \u2013 83 \u2013 of 291 Grand St., Hornell, died Sunday morning (October 10, 2010) at St. James Hospital, following a brief illness.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Dansville on December 13, 1926, she was the daughter of Dillis &amp; Florence (Wampole) Cramer.<\/p>\n<p>Joyce grew up in Ossian, NY and was a graduate of Dansville Central School (class of 1945).\u00a0 She resided in Canisteo for about 2 years and has lived in Hornell for the past 60 years.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In her younger years, Joyce was employed as a secretary at Kelly Brothers Nursery in Dansville.\u00a0 For about 25 years she worked as a clerk at the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in Hornell.<\/p>\n<p>She was a devoted member of the United Presbyterian Church of Hornell where she would often help with church dinners &amp; coffee hour.\u00a0 She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard, but her true joy in life was simply being with her family &#8212; especially her grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>Joyce was married in 1948 to John \u201cJady\u201d Kelly who died April 11, 1989.\u00a0 She was also preceded in death by 1brother Wilbur Cramer; 1 sister, June Cramer.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are 1daughter, Kathy O\u2019Brien of Warsaw; 1 son, Douglas (Christine) Kelly of Springfield, VA; 1 sister, Marjorie Skillman of Arkport; 2 brothers, Willard Cramer of Dansville and Gerald (Martha) Cramer of Ossian; 3 grandchildren, Scott (Christina) Kelly, Kristin (Brad) Geiger and Constance \u201cConnie\u201d Kelly; 1great-grandson, Jackson Geiger; several nieces &amp; nephews.<\/p>\n<p>The family of Joyce E. Kelly will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 PM\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0 7:00 PM at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.\u00a0 Funeral &amp; committal services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at the United Presbyterian Church in Hornell with Rev. David Kilgore officiating.\u00a0 Burial will be in St. Mary\u2019s Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>Joyce\u2019s family request that memorial contributions in her name be made to the American Cancer Society, 1316 College Road (suite 2), Elmira, NY 14901.\u00a0 Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Joyce E.
