\"\"Barbara A. \u201cBarbie\u201d Geyer \u2013 79 \u2013 of 111 Thacher St., Hornell died early Friday morning (January 12, 2017) at Elderwood of Hornell following a brief illness.<\/p>\n

Born in Lockhaven, PA on August 24, 1938, she was the daughter of Harry & Olive (Swisher) Geyer.<\/p>\n

Throughout the years, Barbie resided in several locations, including Pennsylvania & Ohio, and had lived in Hornell for over 10 years.<\/p>\n

She enjoyed taking daily walks (long before it was fashionable), working on word puzzles and watching old movies on TV. She also was an animal lover who especially loved dogs & cats.<\/p>\n

Barbie occasionally attended services at St. Ann\u2019s Church. She will be remembered as a gentle & kind woman who served as caregiver for family members in their final days.<\/p>\n

She was preceded in death by four siblings and also her niece.<\/p>\n

Surviving are 1 brother, William (Shirley) Geyer of Pennsylvania; several nieces & nephews including James (Elizabeth McMindes) Burns with whom she resided.<\/p>\n

At Barbara\u2019s request there will be no calling hours. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.<\/p>\n

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.<\/p>\n

Barbara\u2019s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name be made to the Hornell Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Rd., Hornell, NY 14843.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
