{"id":3217,"date":"2018-05-08T18:46:50","date_gmt":"2018-05-08T18:46:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=3217"},"modified":"2018-05-09T16:32:29","modified_gmt":"2018-05-09T16:32:29","slug":"shannon-riley-donahue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=3217","title":{"rendered":"Shannon Riley Donahue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-3219\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Shannon-Donahue-Photo-200x284.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"284\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Shannon-Donahue-Photo-200x284.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Shannon-Donahue-Photo-250x355.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Shannon-Donahue-Photo-768x1091.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Shannon-Donahue-Photo-1024x1455.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Shannon-Donahue-Photo.jpg 1750w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/>Shannon \u201cRiley\u201d Donahue \u2013 54 \u2013 of Bath, NY, formerly of Hornell, died unexpectedly on Monday (May 7, 2018) in Baltimore, MD, where he had been working for the past several months.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Hornell on August 27, 1963, he was the son of Edward \u201cMickey\u201d Donahue and the former Susan Gay.<\/p>\n<p>Riley grew up in the Hornell &#8211; Canisteo area and attended Canisteo Central School, class of 1981.<\/p>\n<p>He was employed as a foreman for Carpenter Millwright, Local #1163 working on Nuclear Power Plants and a multitude of projects throughout the United States.\u00a0 This was a very dangerous job which required extensive training and carried extensive responsibilities for all of the workers and the communities in which he worked.<\/p>\n<p>Riley was an avid hunter who enjoyed hunting deer, rabbits and turkeys.\u00a0 He especially loved hunting rabbits with his beloved beagles, Kelly &amp; Cupid.\u00a0 He also had a fondness for his beloved cats.\u00a0 He had been a member of the Hornell Elks Lodge, Hornell Moose Lodge, Hornell American Legion and the Hornell VFW. He was an avid golfer and loved the Yankees and the Steelers.<\/p>\n<p>He was preceded in death by his father, Edward \u201cMickey\u201d Donahue who died January 27, 2007.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are his son of whom he was very proud, Nathan (Natalie Bossard) Donahue of Howard, NY; his mother, Sue Cullen of Panasoffkee, FL; 4 brothers, Michael (Nodja) Donahue of Homer, NY, Shaun (Debbie) Donahue of Blossburg, PA, Shane (Cristina) Donahue of Corning and Tim Donahue of Hornell; 3 sisters, Patricia Donahue of Homer, Colleen Donahue of Englewood, FL and Christine Cullen of Palm Harbor, FL; several nieces, nephews &amp; cousins.<\/p>\n<p>The family of Shannon \u201cRiley\u201d Donahue will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the <strong>Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.\u00a0 <\/strong>A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 1:00 PM at St. Ann\u2019s Church with burial in St. Mary\u2019s Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>Riley\u2019s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name be made to the Hornell Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Road, Hornell, NY 14843.\u00a0 Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home.<\/p>\n<p>To leave an online condolence or share a memory, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\">www.dagonfuneralhome.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Shannon \u201cRiley\u201d Donahue \u2013 54 \u2013 of Bath, NY, formerly of Hornell, died unexpectedly on Monday (May 7, 2018) in Baltimore, MD, where he had been working for the past several months.
