\"\"David S. \u201cDave\u201d May \u2013 50 \u2013 of 40 Meadows Park, Arkport, died Thursday evening (January 3, 2019) at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, following a long illness.<\/p>\n

Born in Endicott, NY on November 10, 1968, he was the son of David & Sharon (Holliday) May.<\/p>\n

Dave grew up in Arkport and was a graduate of Arkport Central School (class on 1986). A carpenter by trade, he had been employed at DDS Construction of Rochester, Patrick Concrete of Rochester and Air Vent Aluminum of Arkport. Dave loved working with his hands and throughout the years remodeled numerous homes and also built many porches & decks.<\/p>\n

As an outdoorsman, Dave loved riding 4-wheelers and also competing in demolition derby events. His favorite moments, however, were simply spending time with his son, Greg.<\/p>\n

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, David & Sharon May.<\/p>\n

Surviving are his son, Greg May of Arkport; 2 sisters, Cathy (Jay) Sugden of Green Cove Springs, FL and Becky (Gary) Nowaczyk of Fort Deposit, MD; his \u201cBest Friend\u201d, Charis Barber; nieces & nephews.<\/p>\n

At Dave\u2019s request there will be no calling hours. Private services will be held in Heritage Hill Cemetery in Arkport, NY at the convenience of the family.<\/p>\n

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.<\/p>\n

Dave\u2019s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name be made to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech St., Johnson City, NY 13790.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
