Andrews"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-3620\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Jacquelyn-Andrews-Photo-200x318.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"318\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Jacquelyn-Andrews-Photo-200x318.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Jacquelyn-Andrews-Photo-250x397.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Jacquelyn-Andrews-Photo.jpg 401w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/>Jacquelyn V. \u201cJackie\u201d Andrews \u2013 93 \u2013 of 13 Maplewood Ave., North Hornell, died Sunday afternoon (March 10, 2019) at Elderwood Hornell Nursing Facility, following a long illness.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Jamestown, NY on October 9, 1925, she was the daughter of Elmer &amp; Ann (Cook) Vincent.<\/p>\n<p>Before her 18<sup>th<\/sup> birthday, Jackie actually had resided in 18 different locations, including Olean, Salamanca, Rochester, Alfred and Hornell.\u00a0 She was a graduate of Monroe High School in Rochester (class of 1943) and later graduated from Rochester Business Institute.\u00a0 Jackie also lived in Columbus, OH for about 2 years where she was employed at a bank.\u00a0 She has resided in the Hornell area for the past 70 years.<\/p>\n<p>Jackie was proud to have the title \u201cStay at Home Mom\u201d, raising her family and taking care of the family home.\u00a0 She had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Hornell and was active in Women\u2019s Bible Study.\u00a0 She also enjoyed her time as a volunteer at the former Bethesda Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Jackie was an avid reader.\u00a0 She was known for her homemade crafts &amp; painting beautiful ceramic figurines and dishes that she gave to family &amp; friends.<\/p>\n<p>Jackie was married on June 16, 1949 to Robert \u201cBob\u201d Andrews who died in 1998.\u00a0 She was also preceded in death by her brother, Richard Vincent.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are 2 sons, Robert \u201cBob\u201d (Kim Foiles) Andrews of Missoula, MT and Richard \u201cDick\u201d (Lisa Drake) Andrews of Hornell; 2 daughters, Elizabeth \u201cBeth\u201d (Russell) Gills of Virginia Beach, VA and Susan (Stan) Hooker of Hornell; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; nieces &amp; nephews. She was a mom to her foreign exchange daughter, Dr. Maria (Mia) Eriksdotter. She also has two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Andrews of Canisteo, and Francis Vincent from Meridith, NH.<\/p>\n<p>The family of Jacquelyn V. \u201cJackie\u201d Andrews will receive on Saturday from 12:00 (Noon) \u2013 2:00 PM at the <strong>Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.\u00a0 <\/strong>A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 2:00 PM with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating.\u00a0 Burial will be in Heritage Hill Cemetery, Arkport, NY.<\/p>\n<p>Jackie\u2019s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name be made to any local charity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jacquelyn V. \u201cJackie\u201d Andrews \u2013 93 \u2013 of 13 Maplewood Ave., North Hornell, died Sunday afternoon (March 10, 2019) at Elderwood Hornell Nursing Facility, following a long illness.
