Wulforst"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-3777\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Charles-Wulforst-Photo-200x248.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"248\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Charles-Wulforst-Photo-200x248.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Charles-Wulforst-Photo-250x309.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Charles-Wulforst-Photo.jpg 606w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/>Charles J. \u201cCharlie\u201d Wulforst \u2013 (84) \u2013 of Fremont, NY, died early Sunday morning (May 19, 2019) at Elderwood at Hornell Nursing Facility, following a long illness.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Hicksville, Long Island on October 23, 1934, he was the son of Henry \u201cSam\u201d &amp; Helen \u201cNellie\u201d (Horan) Wulforst.<\/p>\n<p>Charlie was a graduate of Arkport Central School and was a veteran of the US Army, serving his country from 1957-1959.<\/p>\n<p>Following his discharge from the US Army, he was associated with the family potato farming business until the late 1970\u2019s.\u00a0 For several years he worked in the construction industry with several companies, including Land Construction, Groves Construction and most recently Whitford\u2019s Construction, retiring in 1996 as a foreman.\u00a0 He was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and a communicant of St. Ann\u2019s Church.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Wulforst RSM (Sisters of Mercy); his brother &amp; sister-in-law, James &amp; Bonnie Wulforst.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are his brother, Henry (Lorraine) Wulforst of Fremont along with several nieces &amp; nephews.<\/p>\n<p>The family of Charles \u201cCharlie\u201d Wulforst will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 PM until7:00 PM at the <strong>Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.\u00a0 <\/strong>A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 1:30 PM at St. Ann\u2019s Church with Burial in St. Mary\u2019s Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>Charlie\u2019s family request that memorial contributions in his name be made to St. Ann\u2019s Church, 31 Erie Ave., Hornell, NY 14843.
