\"\"Daniel H. \u201cDan\u201d Hawkins \u2013 71 \u2013 of 146 Sutherby Ave., Hornell, NY, died unexpectedly Monday afternoon (May 27, 2019) at his home.<\/p>\n

Born in Washington, DC on May 10, 1948, he was the son of Raymond & Margaret (Haynes) Hawkins.<\/p>\n

Dan grew up in Adelphi, MD and attended High Point High School in Beltsville, MD.\u00a0 He later received his GED at Bladensburg, MD.<\/p>\n

For over 25 years, Dan was employed as a Union Printer for Pike & Fisher Printing in Silver Spring, MD.\u00a0 For about 10 years worked in the fabricating department at West Sheet Metal in Sterling, VA.\u00a0 He has resided in Hornell for the past 6 years.<\/p>\n

Dan was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting (especially deer hunting & dove hunting) and fishing.\u00a0 He also loved spending time pitching horseshoes.<\/p>\n

Surviving are 2 sons, Daniel (Laura) Hawkins of Boyce, VA and Robert \u201cRob\u201d (Laura) Hawkins of Silver Spring, MD; 1 brother, Steve (Jackie) Hawkins of North Carolina; 5 grandchildren, Heather Hawkins, Connor Hawkins, Calleigh Hawkins, Brittany Hawkins and Tommy Hawkins; several nieces & nephews.<\/p>\n

At Dan\u2019s request there will be no calling hours.\u00a0 Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.<\/p>\n
