Storrs \u2013 56 \u2013 formerly of 52 State St., Hornell, died unexpectedly Monday morning (June 3, 2019) in Hornell.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Wayland, NY on November 14, 1962, he was the son of Harold &amp; Loretta (Urbanik) Storrs.<\/p>\n<p>Russell grew up in Conesus, NY and was a graduate of Livonia High School (class of 1982).<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the years, Russell resided in many locations, including Hemlock, Springwater, Cohocton, Avoca &amp; Prattsburgh.\u00a0 He had been employed for about 4 years at Alliance Tool &amp; Die in Honeoye Falls, NY and for about 5 years worked for ENI Corporation in Henrietta, NY, a company which makes components for computers.\u00a0 He had also been employed at Philips Lighting in Bath and most recently worked in the maintenance department for Kemps Bus Company in Lakeville, NY.<\/p>\n<p>Russell had a deep love and affection for music.\u00a0 Music was in his blood from the time that he was old enough to play.\u00a0 He was currently in a band with his brothers, Harold &amp; Wayne called 3SB.\u00a0 Russell was the bass player, lead singer and wrote &amp; co-wrote their original music.\u00a0 They all started playing many, many years ago with their father, Harold Storrs SR.\u00a0 At the time of Russell\u2019s death, the band was finalizing details of an up-coming show.\u00a0 Without a doubt, music was one of the most important things in his life.<\/p>\n<p>He also enjoyed \u201cRock Painting\u201d and was a member of \u201cRockin Hornell\u201d &#8212; a group of people that would paint rocks and place them around the community simply to brighten people\u2019s day.\u00a0 He also donated his painted rocks to the AMVETS in Hornell.<\/p>\n<p>Russell had a deep love for his entire family.\u00a0 His greatest joy, however, was simply being active in his children\u2019s lives.\u00a0 He loved them dearly!!<\/p>\n<p>He was married on November 1, 1986 to the former Diane Shafer who survives.\u00a0 Also surviving are his son, Rik (Amanda) Storrs of Hornell; his daughter, Emilee (Christopher) Canuti of Hornell; 2 sisters, Sue (Randy) Goater of Brockport, NY and Debbie Pierson of Livonia; 4 brothers, Harold (Katrina) Storrs JR of Cohocton, Wayne Storrs of Hornell, Scotty Anderz (Storrs) and Bill Storrs of Arkport; his step-grandson, Ryder Canuti; many nieces &amp; nephews.<\/p>\n<p>At Russell\u2019s request there will be no calling hours.\u00a0 A graveside service at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Geneseo, NY will be held at the convenience of the family.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral arrangements are in care of the <strong>Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Russell\u2019s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name be made to the AMVETS, Broadway Mall, Hornell, NY 14843.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Russell N.
