Travis \u2013 16 \u2013 of 69 Bennett St., Hornell, died unexpectedly early Wednesday morning (May 20, 2020) at his home.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Hornell on June 4, 2003, he was the son of James &amp; Karen (Congdon) Travis.<\/p>\n<p>Jamie grew up in Hornell and attended Bryant School, Hornell Middle School and Hornell High School.\u00a0 For the past two years he has been attending BOCES &#8211; Elmira, NY Bush Campus.<\/p>\n<p>He loved spending countless hours on the Internet, especially Facebook, Snapshot &amp; Instagram.\u00a0 Jamie also considered himself the \u201cKing of the Selfie\u201d and loved taking photos of himself with his family &amp; friends.<\/p>\n<p>For most of his life, Jamie absolutely loved the outdoors, and especially enjoyed swimming.\u00a0 He would immediately jump into any pool, pond, lake or creek that he came upon.\u00a0 He also enjoyed wearing Nike &amp; Adidas Sportswear.<\/p>\n<p>Jamie will be remembered as a young man who \u201cwore his heart on his sleeve\u201d.\u00a0 He was a true &amp; loyal friend who would help anyone in need at any time.\u00a0 As a son, brother, grandson, cousin or nephew, he was simply a joy to be around.\u00a0 He will be sadly missed by everyone that was fortunate enough to have known him!<\/p>\n<p>He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Charles \u201cChuck\u201d Congdon; his paternal grandfather, James Travis.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are his parents, James \u201cJimbo\u201d &amp; Karen Travis; 2 brothers, Mikey Schultz and Stanley Schultz; his sister, Marimargaret Travis; his maternal grandmother, Doris Congdon of Hornell; paternal grandparents, Roberta &amp; Florentino Gonzalez of Bath; 1 niece; 1 nephew; several aunts, uncles &amp; cousins.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the Coronavirus pandemic there will be no calling hours.\u00a0 A private Memorial Service will be held at the <strong>Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY<\/strong> at the convenience of the family with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating.\u00a0 A \u201cCelebration of Life\u201d will be held at a future date.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>The Memorial Service for Jamie \u00a0will be streamed via Facebook Live and can be viewed on the Dagon Funeral Home Facebook page on Wednesday at 12:00 (Noon) by visiting <\/em><\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/dagonfuneralhome\"><strong><em>www.facebook.com\/dagonfuneralhome<\/em><\/strong><\/a><strong><em>.\u00a0 The video will remain available for viewing on our Facebook page for 30 days.<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Funeral arrangements are in care of the <strong>Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jamie\u2019s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name be made to any Suicide Prevention Program or Mental Health Program of the donor\u2019s choice.\u00a0 Remember, the dollar that you give may save a life!!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamie D.
