{"id":4825,"date":"2021-02-11T21:16:40","date_gmt":"2021-02-11T21:16:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=4825"},"modified":"2021-02-12T21:30:34","modified_gmt":"2021-02-12T21:30:34","slug":"mary-ann-losecco","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=4825","title":{"rendered":"Mary Ann Losecco"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-4829\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Mary-Ann-Losecco-Photo-200x283.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"283\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Mary-Ann-Losecco-Photo-200x283.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Mary-Ann-Losecco-Photo-250x354.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Mary-Ann-Losecco-Photo.jpg 599w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/>Mary Ann Losecco \u2013 88 \u2013 of 1190 County Route 66 (The Woodlands), Hornell, died Thursday morning (February 11, 2021) at St. James Hospital, following a long illness.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Hornell on July 26, 1932, she was the daughter of Frank &amp; Edna (Norton) Secondo.<\/p>\n<p>Mary Ann, affectionately known as \u201cMama Losecco\u201d grew up in Hornell and was a graduate of St. Ann School and Hornell High School (class of 1950).<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the years, Mary Ann worked at various jobs, including the former Reitnauer Grocery, Richtmyers Grocery and Tasty Pastry of Hornell.\u00a0 She also served as a cook in the cafeteria at Alfred State College and operated the Snack Bar at the former Bethesda Community Hospital.\u00a0 In addition, Mary Ann worked at the lunch counter at the former Dunn\u2019s Drug Store and served as a cook at the former Ponce DeLeon Restaurant.\u00a0 For many years, \u201cMama Losecco\u201d helped her son, Fran, serving as cook &amp; baker at Fran\u2019s Locker Room and Losecco\u2019s Family Market.\u00a0 She was especially known for her Italian Dishes such as meatballs &amp; pasta along with her homemade soups.\u00a0 Her goal was to make sure that no one ever walked away hungry!!<\/p>\n<p>She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and a communicant of St. Ann\u2019s Church.\u00a0 She had been a member of the Ladies of Columbus and also the Catholic Daughters of America.\u00a0 Mary Ann loved spending time in her kitchen, cooking (especially Italian dishes) and baking for her family and friends.\u00a0 Throughout the years, she enjoyed \u201ckeeping up the house\u201d, both inside and outside, especially shoveling snow, mowing the lawn and doing yard work.\u00a0 She also loved joining her husband and son rooting for the Miami Dolphins.<\/p>\n<p>Mary Ann was married on October 6, 1951 to Francis \u201cFrank\u201d Losecco who died in 2016.\u00a0 She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Tina Marie Losecco (died 1972); and her brother, Carl Secondo.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are 2 daughters, Regina \u201cGina\u201d Gurrola of Mesa, AZ and Theresa (Chuck) Hallas of Hornell; 1 son, Francis \u201cFran\u201d (Lynda) Losecco of Canisteo; 1 brother, Frank Secondo of Mesa, AZ; 4 sisters, Dorothy Ermy of Hornell, Joanne Porcaro of Hornell, Janice (Stan) Davis of Mesa, AZ and Patty Lenhart of Mesa, AZ; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren (one on the way); several nieces &amp; nephews.<\/p>\n<p>Due to COVID-19, there will be no prior calling hours.\u00a0 A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Ann\u2019s Church with final interment at St. Mary\u2019s Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral arrangements are in care of the <strong>Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Memorial Mass for Mary Ann Losecco will be streamed via YouTube and can be viewed on the Dagon Funeral Home Facebook page on Friday at 10:00 AM by visiting <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/dagonfuneralhome\">www.facebook.com\/dagonfuneralhome<\/a>.\u00a0 The video will remain available for viewing on our Facebook page for 30 days<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Mary Ann\u2019s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name be made to the Comfort Care\/Hospice of St. James Hospital, 7329 Seneca Road North, Hornell, NY 14843.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mary Ann Losecco \u2013 88 \u2013 of 1190 County Route 66 (The Woodlands), Hornell, died Thursday morning (February 11, 2021) at St. James Hospital, following a long illness.
