{"id":4963,"date":"2021-05-19T18:51:15","date_gmt":"2021-05-19T18:51:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=4963"},"modified":"2021-05-21T21:10:31","modified_gmt":"2021-05-21T21:10:31","slug":"evelyn-carbone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=4963","title":{"rendered":"Evelyn Carbone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-4971\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Evelyn-Carbone-Photo-200x351.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"351\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Evelyn-Carbone-Photo-200x351.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Evelyn-Carbone-Photo-250x439.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Evelyn-Carbone-Photo.jpg 379w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/>Evelyn Carbone \u2013 91 \u2013 formerly of Holley Terrace, Hornell and later Buffalo St., Hornell, died Wednesday afternoon (May 19, 2021) at Elderwood at Hornell Nursing Facility.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Hornell on January 22, 1930, she was the daughter of Leo &amp; Helen (Parcels) Jones.<\/p>\n<p>Evelyn grew up in the West Almond area where she attended a local country elementary school.\u00a0 She later attended Angelica Central School.<\/p>\n<p>She was employed for many years as a press operator for Loohn\u2019s Cleaners in Hornell.<\/p>\n<p>Evelyn was a member of Jehovah\u2019s Witness Kingdom Hall of Canisteo where she enjoyed bible study and her time spent with her many friends.\u00a0 She loved shopping for groceries and browsing for items at the Salvation Army.\u00a0 Evelyn also loved to simply sit by the window or sit on her porch listening to country music and enjoying the beautiful weather during the summer months.\u00a0 She cherished the times spent with her children &amp; grandchildren when they visited.<\/p>\n<p>She was married to Dominick Carbone who died in 2003.\u00a0 Evelyn was also preceded in death by2 sons, Leo Carbone and Tony Carbone; 3 sisters, Josephine Galvan, Jessie Kleiman and Ruth \u201cRudy\u201d Brown; 3 brothers, Wendell Jones, David Jones and Leo Jones.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are her daughter, Cynthia \u201cCindi\u201d (Marty) Kelleher of Hornell; 2 sons, Joseph (Karen) Carbone of Hornell &amp; Nickalus \u201cNick\u201d Carbone of Hornell; her daughter-in-law, Kate Carbone of Livonia; 1 brother, John (Carolee) Jones of Tennessee; 1 sister, Mary (Joe) Cotton of Alfred; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces &amp; nephews.<\/p>\n<p>The family of Evelyn Carbone will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 PM \u2013 6:00 PM at the <strong>Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.\u00a0 <\/strong>A Memorial Service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 6:00 PM.\u00a0 Burial will be in Rural Cemetery, Hornell, NY.<\/p>\n<p>Evelyn\u2019s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name be made to the Alzheimer\u2019s\u00a0 Association,\u00a0 435 East Henrietta Road,\u00a0 Rochester, NY\u00a0 14620.\u00a0 Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Evelyn Carbone \u2013 91 \u2013 formerly of Holley Terrace, Hornell and later Buffalo St., Hornell, died Wednesday afternoon (May 19, 2021) at Elderwood at Hornell Nursing Facility.
