Geffrey L. \u201cGeff\u201d Dunfee \u2013 73 \u2013 of 7926 Stewart Rd., Hornell, NY (Town of Howard), died Monday evening (August 20, 2021) at St. James Hospital.<\/p>\n
Born in Waverly, NY on October 31, 1947, he was the son of George & Laura (Peppard) Dunfee.<\/p>\n
Geff grew up in Waverly and was a graduate of Waverly High School (class of 1966).\u00a0 He was a Veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict, serving his country from 1968 \u2013 1970 as a Commissioned Warrant Officer.<\/p>\n
Following his Honorable Discharge from the Army, Geff resided in Hackansack, NJ and was employed as a Grocery Store Manager.\u00a0 He has been a resident of the Hornell \u2013 Howard area since the late 1970\u2019s and had been employed at the former Babcock Ladder in Bath and later worked at Philips Lighting in Bath.\u00a0 He retired about 8 years ago.<\/p>\n
Geff was an avid golfer and enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and watching NFL Footall.\u00a0 In his younger years he enjoyed spending time outdoors and hunting.\u00a0 He had been a member of the VFW.<\/p>\n
He was preceded in death by his parents, George & Laura Dunfee.<\/p>\n
Surviving are 2 brothers, Michael Dunfee of Cape Caniveral, FL and George (Gloria) Dunfee III of Allen, TX; 2 nephews, Zach Dunfee and Brian (Stephanie) Dunfee; 1 niece, Jodi (Sam) Procunier; twin great-nieces, Natalie Dunfee & Kaitlin Dunfee.<\/p>\n
At Geff\u2019s request there will be no calling hours.\u00a0 A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 PM the Bath National Cemetery.<\/p>\n
