Mardo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-522\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?attachment_id=522\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-522\" title=\"Angeline Mardo Photo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Angeline-Mardo-Photo-250x315.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"315\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Angeline-Mardo-Photo-250x315.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Angeline-Mardo-Photo-200x252.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Angeline-Mardo-Photo-1024x1293.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Angeline-Mardo-Photo.jpg 1423w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a>Angeline M. \u201cAngie\u201d Mardo<\/strong> \u2013 93 \u2013 a former resident of 155 River St. and most recently Updyke\u2019s Willow Ridge Quality Care Facility, died early Sunday morning (January 9, 2011 at St. Ann\u2019s Nursing Facility in Rochester following a long illness.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Born in Gaelton, PA on June 29, 1917, she was the daughter of James &amp; Josephine (Federico) Gangemi.\u00a0\u00a0 She has resided in Hornell for most of her life.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She was employed for 22 years at the former Tuttle &amp; Rockwell Co. as a home designer and seamstress of custom made drapes &amp; slipcovers.\u00a0 She retired in 1977.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Angie was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and a communicant of St. Ann\u2019s Church.\u00a0 She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America; Ladies of Columbus; St. James Women\u2019s Board; and for 16 years served as chairman of area blood banks for the American Red Cross.\u00a0 She also volunteered her time at St. Ann\u2019s School and for 13 years was a RSVP volunteer.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She was the 1<sup>st<\/sup> volunteer for the Hornell Public Library Home Delivery Service which began in the late 1970s and is still in operation today.\u00a0 She was the recipient of a Volunteer Certificate in recognition of 4000 hours of volunteer service from President George W.
