Becker"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hornell, New York<\/p>\n<p>James H. \u201cJim\u201d Becker \u2013 70 \u2013 of 73 Steuben St., Hornell, died Tuesday morning (March 8, 2022) at St. James Hospital, following a long illness.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Hornell on January 18, 1952, he was the son of Harry &amp; Ruth (Dyke) Becker.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the years, Jim resided in many locations, including Hornell, Bath, California and New Jersey.\u00a0 He was a graduate of Corning-Painted Post West High School (class of 1970) and was a Veteran of the US Army, having served two tours of duty in Vietnam.<\/p>\n<p>While living in New Jersey, Jim owned &amp; operated Tiremasters Inc in Lakewood, NJ and later served as a supervisor for G3 Inc. in Bridgewater, NJ.<\/p>\n<p>He had been a member of the Hornell VFW and also the Hornell American Legion.<\/p>\n<p>Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Harry &amp; Ruth; and his brother, John.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are his siblings, Judith \u201cJudy\u201d Triba, Paula Cecile, Mike Becker, Kay Burnell &amp; Gerald Travis; along with many nieces &amp; nephews.<\/p>\n<p>At Jim\u2019s request there will be no calling hours.\u00a0 Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.\u00a0 Final interment will be in the Bath National Cemetery, Bath, NY.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.<\/p>\n<p>Jim\u2019s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name be made to a charity of the donor\u2019s choice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hornell, New York James H. \u201cJim\u201d Becker \u2013 70 \u2013 of 73 Steuben St., Hornell, died Tuesday morning (March 8, 2022) at St. James Hospital, following a long illness.
