{"id":5547,"date":"2022-03-16T12:56:15","date_gmt":"2022-03-16T12:56:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=5547"},"modified":"2022-03-17T12:04:03","modified_gmt":"2022-03-17T12:04:03","slug":"molly-dagon-andolina","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=5547","title":{"rendered":"Molly Dagon Andolina"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-5551\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Molly-Photo-1-250x386.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"386\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Molly-Photo-1-250x386.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Molly-Photo-1-200x308.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Molly-Photo-1.jpg 389w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/>Molly Dagon Andolina \u2013 65 \u2013 of 24 Meadowbrook Rd., Arkport, died on Tuesday, March 15 following a long illness.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Hornell on June 8, 1956, she was the daughter of Jim &amp; Marieka \u201cRickey\u201d (Plianos) Dagon.<\/p>\n<p>Molly grew up in Hornell, attended St. Ann\u2019s School then graduated from the Hornell High School (class of 1974).\u00a0 Following her graduation, she attended Alfred State College and Simmons School of Embalming &amp; Mortuary Science in Syracuse, NY, obtaining her funeral director\u2019s license upon graduation in 1976.<\/p>\n<p>She began her career at Chase Funeral Home in Binghamton and spent 10 years actively in the operation of the Dagon Funeral Home in Hornell, working alongside her father &amp; brother.\u00a0 Molly was later employed by The Village of Arkport as an assistant clerk.<\/p>\n<p>Molly was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and a communicant of St. Ann\u2019s Church.\u00a0\u00a0 She was also a member of the Arkport American Legion Auxiliary, the Hornell Association, and the G. Carducci Lodge (Sons of Italy).\u00a0 She was heavily involved with Arkport Junior Baseball where she enjoyed cheering on her kids and volunteering her time organizing and managing the concessions.<\/p>\n<p>Molly always served as \u201cThe Neighborhood Mother,\u201d welcoming all of her children\u2019s friends who would come over to swim, play basketball and other sports, or to simply \u201chang out.\u201d\u00a0 Parents were always comfortable with their children going to the Andolina House, as Molly always took care of them as her own.<\/p>\n<p>She (along with the entire Andolina family) was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan.\u00a0 As a loving mother, she always enjoyed attending her children\u2019s sporting and school events.\u00a0 She and her husband \u201cadopted\u201d their teams which later included the Alfred University Men\u2019s Basketball team during four years when their son Nick was a member.\u00a0 In recent years, she loved spending time during the winter in Southern Florida with her husband to enjoy the warm weather and sunshine.<\/p>\n<p>Molly was a friend to anyone she met and all who knew her loved her.\u00a0\u00a0 Her amazing personality and endless sense of humor lightened up every room.\u00a0 She treated everyone as if they were family or her best friend.\u00a0 She will surely be missed by all.<\/p>\n<p>She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim &amp; Rickey Dagon; her daughter, Jillian \u201cJill\u201d Andolina (2013); her niece, Sara Dagon (2019); her brother in law, Larry Clark (2017).<\/p>\n<p>Molly was married in St. Ann\u2019s Church on August 20, 1982 to Dr. Richard \u201cRick\u201d Andolina who survives.\u00a0 Also surviving are her 3 sons, Dr. Richard \u201cRick\u201d Andolina Jr. of Hornell, Dr. Nicholas \u201cNick\u201d (Jessica) Andolina of Manassas, VA, and Mitchell \u201cMitch\u201d Andolina of Arkport; 4 sisters, Ellen Dagon of Hornell; Mary Clark of Hornell, Sally (Rich) Head of Hornell and Anne (Rich) Scavo of Hornell; 2 brothers, Jim (Patty) Dagon of Hornell and John (Karen) Dagon of Hornell; 3 grandchildren, Niko, Jillian &amp; Remi; numerous nieces, nephews &amp; cousins.<\/p>\n<p>Molly&#8217;s family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 PM\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0 5:00 PM at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.\u00a0 A Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Ann\u2019s Church followed by burial in St. Mary\u2019s Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Funeral Mass for Molly Andolina will be streamed live and can be viewed on the Dagon Funeral Home Facebook page on Monday at 10:00 AM by visiting <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/dagonfuneralhome\">www.facebook.com\/dagonfuneralhome<\/a>.\u00a0 The video will remain available for viewing on our Facebook page for 30 days<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Molly\u2019s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name be made to either the Hornell Humane Society (Jill Andolina Memorial Dog Park) 7649 Industrial Park Road, Hornell, NY 14843 or to St. Ann\u2019s Academy, 41 Genesee St., Hornell, NY 14843, or to the Jill Andolina Memorial Scholarship Fund, C\/O Arkport Central School, 35 East Ave., Arkport, NY 14807.\u00a0 Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Molly Dagon Andolina \u2013 65 \u2013 of 24 Meadowbrook Rd., Arkport, died on Tuesday, March 15 following a long illness.
