{"id":5704,"date":"2022-05-27T11:57:30","date_gmt":"2022-05-27T11:57:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=5704"},"modified":"2022-05-27T16:54:13","modified_gmt":"2022-05-27T16:54:13","slug":"timothy-tim-deebs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=5704","title":{"rendered":"Timothy &#8220;Tim&#8221; Deebs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-5530\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Timothy-Deeps-Photo-250x288.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"288\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Timothy-Deeps-Photo-250x288.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Timothy-Deeps-Photo-200x230.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Timothy-Deeps-Photo.jpg 521w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/>Timothy J. \u201cTim\u201d Deebs \u2013 68 \u2013 of 23 Hakes Ave., Hornell, died Wednesday afternoon (March 2, 2022) at Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, following a brief illness.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Hornell on April 3, 1953, he was the son of Fred \u201cBlackie\u201d &amp; Thomasine \u201cTommie\u201d (Doyle) Deebs.<\/p>\n<p>Tim, affectionately known as \u201cMecca\u201d, grew up in Hornell and was a graduate of Hornell High School (class of 1971). \u00a0While in high school, he was a member of the HHS football team, wrestling team and track team. \u00a0It was at that time that he began working for his father at Hornell Tank &amp; Pump Company, a business that he would eventually own &amp; operate under the name Deebs Tank &amp; Pump.<\/p>\n<p>For a time, Tim was employed as a backhoe operator for Karl Weyand Construction of Hornell and later drove tractor-trailer.\u00a0 For several years he served as a brakeman for the former Delaware &amp; Hudson (D&amp;H) Railroad. \u00a0A licensed electrician, Tim owned &amp; operated his own electrical contracting business in Hornell and as a licensed mechanic owned &amp; operated Seneca Street CITGO, the last \u201cFull Service Gas Station\u201d in Hornell. \u00a0He was later employed at TTA Corporation in Kanona and Alstom Corporation of Hornell. \u00a0He retired in 2010 due to ill health.<\/p>\n<p>Tim had been a communicant of the former St. Ignatius Loyola Church and a 3rd Degree member of the Hornell Knights of Columbus and also a member of the Hornell Association.\u00a0 He was an avid Buffalo Bills Football fan as well as a New York Yankee fan.\u00a0 Tim was also a \u201cdie-hard\u201d NASCAR fan. \u00a0In his younger years, he liked to go deer hunting with his friends and enjoyed restoring vintage cars.<\/p>\n<p>He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred &amp; \u201cTommie\u201d Deebs; and his infant brother, John Deebs.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are 2 brothers, Thomas (Irene) Deebs of Largo, FL and Michael (Andrea) Deebs of Hornell; 2 sisters, Lori (Bob) Flaitz of Hornell and Karen (Paul) Stevens of Arkport; his \u201cSpecial Aunt\u201d, Mary Kay (Lee) Montgomery of Baltimore, MD; several nieces, nephews &amp; cousins.<\/p>\n<p>At Tim\u2019s request there will be no calling hours. \u00a0A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday (June 4, 2002) at St. Ann\u2019s Church. \u00a0Final interment will be in Hornell Rural Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.<\/p>\n<p>Tim\u2019s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or to the Hornell Humane Society.<\/p>\n<p>To leave an online condolence or share a memory, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\">www.dagonfuneralhome.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Timothy J. \u201cTim\u201d Deebs \u2013 68 \u2013 of 23 Hakes Ave., Hornell, died Wednesday afternoon (March 2, 2022) at Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, following a brief illness.
