{"id":5711,"date":"2022-05-28T13:04:59","date_gmt":"2022-05-28T13:04:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=5711"},"modified":"2022-05-29T19:27:30","modified_gmt":"2022-05-29T19:27:30","slug":"roberta-robyn-hansen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=5711","title":{"rendered":"Roberta &#8220;Robyn&#8221; Hansen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-5717\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Roberta-Hansen-Obit-Photo-250x376.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"376\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Roberta-Hansen-Obit-Photo-250x376.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Roberta-Hansen-Obit-Photo-200x301.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Roberta-Hansen-Obit-Photo.jpg 399w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/>Roberta G. \u201cRobyn\u201d Hansen \u2013 72 \u2013 of 7 Aspen Lane, Hornell, (Edgeview Estates), died Thursday afternoon (May 26, 2022) at her home, following a long illness.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Bath, NY (Town of Urbana) on September 4, 1949, she was the daughter of George &amp; Jean (Fawcett) Leach.<\/p>\n<p>Robyn grew up in Bath and was a graduate of Haverling High School (class of 1968).\u00a0 A 6<sup>th<\/sup> generation \u201cPressman\u201d, she began working for her father at The Advocate, a local newspaper and eventually became a press manager.\u00a0 For about 10 years she resided in Hartsville and during that time was employed at the former New Life Printers in Hornell.<\/p>\n<p>A resident of the Hornell-Almond area for the past 30 years, Robyn served as a printing press operator and also manager of the Documents Center at Alfred State College for about 15 years, retiring due to ill health.<\/p>\n<p>Robyn enjoyed being outdoors and loved working in her flower garden.\u00a0 She also enjoyed fly-fishing and watching the many humming birds on her property.\u00a0 She was an avid reader and would read nearly 300 books per year.<\/p>\n<p>She was married in 2004 to Thormod \u201cTom\u201d Hansen who died April 8, 2018.\u00a0 She was also preceded in death by her sister, Barb Leach who died 2 months ago.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are 2 sons, Brian (Cate) Robson of Corning and Patrick (Katerina Lopez) Robson of Hornell; 1 brother, Bill (Judy) Leach of Boston, MA; her beloved grandchildren, Julia, Ellie, George, Thomas, Izaak, John and Zachary, along with several nieces &amp; nephews.\u00a0 She also had a multitude of other &#8220;kids&#8221; who shared her table and her heart over the years.<\/p>\n<p>At Robyn\u2019s request there will be no calling hours.\u00a0 A \u201cCelebration of Life\u201d will be held at time &amp; date to be announced.\u00a0 Interment will be at the Bath National Cemetery, Bath, NY with her husband, Tom.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.<\/p>\n<p>Robyn\u2019s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name be made to either Wounded Warriors, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517 or to St. Jude Children\u2019s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place,\u00a0 Memphis, TN\u00a0 38105.<\/p>\n<p>To leave an online condolence or share a memory, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\">www.dagonfuneralhome.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Roberta G. \u201cRobyn\u201d Hansen \u2013 72 \u2013 of 7 Aspen Lane, Hornell, (Edgeview Estates), died Thursday afternoon (May 26, 2022) at her home, following a long illness.
