{"id":5749,"date":"2022-06-17T15:57:39","date_gmt":"2022-06-17T15:57:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=5749"},"modified":"2022-06-19T17:53:21","modified_gmt":"2022-06-19T17:53:21","slug":"richard-l-dick-davison","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=5749","title":{"rendered":"Richard L. &#8220;Dick&#8221; Davison"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-5759\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Richard-Davison-Photo-2-250x338.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"338\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Richard-Davison-Photo-2-250x338.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Richard-Davison-Photo-2-200x270.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Richard-Davison-Photo-2.jpg 444w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/>Richard L. \u201cDick\u201d Davison \u2013 (86) \u2013 of 1219 County Road 13-C, Canaseraga, NY died Friday morning (June 17, 2022) at his home, following a long illness.<\/p>\n<p>Born in North Hornell on January 6, 1936, he was the son of Llewellyn &amp; Genevieve (Sackett) Davison.<\/p>\n<p>Dick grew up in Hornell and attended school in the Hornell School System.\u00a0 He was a Veteran of the US Marine Corps, serving as a truck driver in Korea during the Korean Conflict.\u00a0 He was honorably discharged in 1957 following 3 years of service.<\/p>\n<p>For 42 years he was employed in many capacities at the former Stern &amp; Stern Textile Corporation, primarily in the maintenance departments.\u00a0 He retired in 1998.<\/p>\n<p>An outdoorsman, Dick enjoyed hunting, primarily deer &amp; small game.<\/p>\n<p>He was preceded in death by his daughter, Norma Young (died 2015); his son, Randy Young (died 2018) his granddaughter, Mary Jo Hill; his great-grandson, Joseph Turner; his sister, Alice Sims.<\/p>\n<p>Dick was married in 1965 to the former Patricia Gee Young who survives.\u00a0 Also surviving are 2 sons, David Young of Bath and Rich Davison of Canaseraga; 3 daughters, Rebecca (Lee Hurst) Young of Rochester, Sandra Kinnerney of Alfred and Julia (Tom) Testani of Bath; his daughter-in-law, Linda Young of Greenwood; 2 sisters, Barb Castle of Belmont and Linda (Rocky) Burdett of Hornell;14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren (and one \u201con the way\u201d); several nieces &amp; nephews.<\/p>\n<p>At Dick\u2019s request there will be no calling hours.\u00a0 Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral arrangements are in care of the <strong>Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dick\u2019s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name be made to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech St., Johnson City, NY\u00a0 13790<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To leave an online condolence or share a memory, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\">www.dagonfuneralhome.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Richard L. \u201cDick\u201d Davison \u2013 (86) \u2013 of 1219 County Road 13-C, Canaseraga, NY died Friday morning (June 17, 2022) at his home, following a long illness.
