{"id":5989,"date":"2022-09-29T12:43:11","date_gmt":"2022-09-29T12:43:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=5989"},"modified":"2022-09-30T11:33:44","modified_gmt":"2022-09-30T11:33:44","slug":"rose-anne-mccormick","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=5989","title":{"rendered":"Rose Anna McCormick"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-5993\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Rose-McCormick-Photo-250x346.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"346\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Rose-McCormick-Photo-250x346.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Rose-McCormick-Photo-200x276.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Rose-McCormick-Photo.jpg 434w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/>Rose Anna McCormick \u2013 71 \u2013 of Hornell, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Fort Ticonderoga, NY on October 29, 1950, she was the daughter of Morgan &amp; Helen (Carpenter) Belden and was raised by her grandmother, Esther Belden.<\/p>\n<p>Rose had a way of capturing every special moment with her family and friends.\u00a0 She was selfless and this was evident throughout her long career as a nurse and her most cherished job of being Nana to her seven beloved grandchildren.\u00a0 Rose found greatest joy when surrounded by her grandkids.<\/p>\n<p>She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and a communicant of St. Ann\u2019s Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.\u00a0 Rose was a dedicated advocate for Relay for Life and was proud to walk in the Wilmot Cancer walk and to raise funds to find a cure for cancer.<\/p>\n<p>On December 29, 1970, Rose was married to Deacon Bob McCormick who survives.\u00a0 Also surviving are 3 daughters, Tara (Robert) Pienkowski of Syracuse, Erin (Terrence) Sloan of Selkirk, NY and Nicole (Matthew) Einhorn of Selkirk, NY; 7 grandchildren, Mia Pienkowski, Carissa Pienkowski, Aiden Sloan, Bryson Sloan, Kaleb Sloan, Cameron Einhorn and Avery Einhorn.<\/p>\n<p>The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to all of the health care providers that helped Rose throughout her illness; especially, the staff from Care First Hospice that were with her in her final days at home.\u00a0 So many wonderful nurses cared for her that we cannot list all of them individually.\u00a0 Also, thank you to Dr. Picco and Dr. Sharda and their medical staff for the countless hours and devoted medical care provided.<\/p>\n<p>At Rose\u2019s request there will be no prior calling hours. \u00a0A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 3, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann\u2019s Church, Hornell, NY.
