Ann F. Smith \u2013 79 \u2013 of 2967 State Route 36, Jasper, NY died early Thursday morning (September 7, 2023) at her home, following a lengthy illness.<\/p>\n

Born in Troy, NY on June 3, 1944, she was the daughter of Arthur & Eleanor (Omelia) Fleming.<\/p>\n

Ann grew up in Watervliet, NY and was a graduate of Watervliet High School (class of 1962). She resided in Connecticut for several years and for about 30 years lived in North Ft. Myers, FL. She has resided in Jasper for the past two years.<\/p>\n

She enjoyed quilting, especially patchwork quilting. A self-proclaimed \u201cShop-A-Holic,\u201d Ann loved collecting items purchased on the Home Shopping Network. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and also enjoyed going out to dinner.<\/p>\n

Ann was married to Gordon Harrison Smith who died April 28, 2021. She was also preceded in death by her son, Erik Smith.<\/p>\n

Surviving are 2 sons, Alan (Penny) Smith with whom she resided and Douglas (Sue) Smith of Nampa, ID; 1 daughter, Jane (Richard) Simmons of North Ft. Myers, FL; 1 sister, Eleanor Jane Linendoll of Watervliet, NY; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; nieces & nephews.<\/p>\n

At Ann\u2019s request there will be no calling hours. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.<\/p>\n

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.<\/p>\n

Ann\u2019s family request that memorial contributions in her name be made to a charity of the donor\u2019s choice.<\/p>\n
