Quant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-668\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?attachment_id=668\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-668\" title=\"James Quant Photo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/James-Quant-Photo-250x328.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"328\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/James-Quant-Photo-250x328.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/James-Quant-Photo-200x262.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/James-Quant-Photo.jpg 784w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a>James E. \u201cJim\u201d Quant \u2013 58 \u2013 formerly of Hornell, died early Thursday morning (May 12, 2011) at the Sweden Valley Manor in Coudersport, PA, following a long illness.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Hornell on September 27, 1952, he was the son of Frank &amp; Verna (Windsor) Quant.<\/p>\n<p>Jim Grew up in Hornell and was a graduate of Hornell High School (class of 1972).\u00a0 Following graduation from high school, he served in the US Navy.<\/p>\n<p>He had been employed for a time at the City of Hornell Department of Public Works.\u00a0 Throughout the years, Jim resided in many locations, including Hornell, Philadelphia, PA, Wellsville and Andover.\u00a0 For most of his life he worked as a truck driver for several trucking companies.\u00a0 He was an avid hunter &amp; fisherman.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Quant; 2 brothers, Ivan Pryor and Leroy Pryor.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are 2 sons, Theodore \u201cTed\u201d Quant of Hornell and James \u201cJay\u201d Quant of Elmira; 2daughters Erica (Matt) Brundage of Wellsville and Linda sue Carrier of Florida; 1 step-son, Frank (Laura) Conley of Olean; 1 step-daughter, Kimberly (Mike) Slawson of Wellsville; 2 brothers, Lloyd (Daisy) Quant of Arkport and Arthur (Patricia) Quant of Hornell; 3 sisters, Anne (Lyle) Crosby of Prescott, AZ, Lavina (John) Ewing\u00a0 of Las Vegas, NV and Theda Drew of Hornell; 5 grandchildren, Ted JR, Vincent, Brandon, Nicholas, Jon Benet and Ethan; 1 great-grandson, Wyatt; 1 aunt, Rose Brown of Cuba; several nieces &amp; nephews.<\/p>\n<p>The family of James E. \u201cJim\u201d Quant will receive friends on Monday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY, where a Memorial Service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 11:00 AM with Rev.
