Jean Foley \u2013 (93) \u2013 of 1190 County Route 66 (The Woodlands), Hornell, formerly of Rochester, NY &amp; Whittier, CA, died Monday morning at St. James Hospital following a long illness.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Hornell on May 25, 1930, she was the daughter of Eugene &amp; Irene (Davidson) Howe.<\/p>\n<p>Jean grew up in Arkport and was a graduate of Arkport Central School (class of 1948). She resided in Rochester for many years and had been employed as a film inspector at Kodak Corporation and later as a lens polisher at Bausch &amp; Laum.<\/p>\n<p>She resided in Whittier, CA for many years and for 13 years she was employed as a \u201clead lady\u201d at Beckman Instruments in California.<\/p>\n<p>Jean was an avid bingo player and enjoyed reading &amp; working on crossword puzzles.<\/p>\n<p>Jean was married on December 27, 1951 to Michael Foley who died June 10, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael E. Foley; her sister, Virginia Howe; 2 brothers, Ralph Howe and Francis Howe.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are 1 daughter, Patricia Jean (Ric) Saavedra of Oregon; 2 brothers, Dean \u201cEd\u201d (Carrie) Howe of Arkport and Randy Howe of Daytona, FL; her sister-in-law, Barbara Howe of South Dansville;1 grandson, Aaron Nakahara; 5 step-grandchildren, Isaac, James, Abigail, Elizabeth and Marcos; several nieces &amp; nephews.<\/p>\n<p>At Jean\u2019s request there will be no calling hours. Private graveside services will be held at Heritage Hill Cemetery in Arkport with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.<\/p>\n<p>Jean\u2019s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name be made to the Hornell Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Road, Hornell, NY 14843.<\/p>\n<p>To leave an online condolence or share a memory, visit www.dagonfuneralhome.com.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hornell, New York A.
