Darlene M. Harrison \u2013 63 \u2013 of 139 Wall St., Corning, NY, died Sunday morning (May 12, 2024) at her home, following a long illness.<\/p>\n

A native & lifelong resident of Corning, Darlene served as a \u201cLunch Lady\u201d for the Corning School District for several years. For about 10 years she was employed in the housekeeping department of the Super 8 Motel in Corning and for about 22 years worked in the housekeeping department of the Radisson Hotel in Corning, retiring about 3 years ago.<\/p>\n

Darlene enjoyed listening to Country Music and spending time working in her flower garden. She was a talented artist and loved painting \u201cgarden statues\u201d and other ornaments. She also enjoyed her time camping at Sunflower Acres Campground in Addison, NY.<\/p>\n

She was preceded in death by her father, Francis Harrison and her infant brother, Alan Joe Harrison.<\/p>\n

Surviving are her longtime companion, Leigh Shaefer; her son, Dana Andrews of Corning; her daughter, Dolly McIntyre of Corning; her mother, Dorothy Taylor of Corning; 3 brothers, Randy (Inez) Harrison of Corning, Harry (Samantha) Harrison of Watkins Glen & Timmy Harrison of Corning; 2 sisters, Debbie Boissonneault of Corning and Rosie (Bruce) Watson of Corning; 5 grandchildren, Seth Andrews, Isaac Andrews, kloey Andrews, Martin McIntyre and Maggie McIntyre; several nieces & nephews.<\/p>\n

At Darlene\u2019s request there will be no calling hours. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.<\/p>\n

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.<\/p>\n

Darlene\u2019s family request that memorial contributions in her name be made to the charity of the donor\u2019s choice.<\/p>\n
