Lewis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-720\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?attachment_id=720\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-720\" title=\"Lorraine Lewis Photo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Lorraine-Lewis-Photo1-250x262.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"262\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Lorraine-Lewis-Photo1-250x262.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Lorraine-Lewis-Photo1-200x210.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Lorraine-Lewis-Photo1.jpg 770w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a>Lorraine L. \u201cLou\u201d Lewis \u2013 85 \u2013 formerly of Rochester, died late Monday evening (July 18, 2011) at McAuley Manor where she has resided for the past 2 years.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Rochester on March 14, 1926, she was the daughter of August &amp; Evangeline Vetter.<\/p>\n<p>Lorraine resided most of her life in Rochester and attended Holy Redeemer Catholic School and Ben Franklin High School.\u00a0 She later attended Nazareth College.<\/p>\n<p>She had been employed for many years at Woolensock Optical and also McCurdy\u2019s Department Store in Rochester.\u00a0 She later worked as a bookkeeper at John Ames Motors for several years and had been a licensed real estate agent for Century 21 in Rochester.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Lorraine enjoyed camping and also vacationing &#8212; especially in the Thousand Islands and Florida.\u00a0 She also enjoyed sewing and embroidering.\u00a0 Lou was a self-proclaimed \u201cQVC Addict\u201d who loved shopping on the popular TV Show.\u00a0 She had a love of animals, especially her pet dogs.<\/p>\n<p>The oldest of 10 children, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 1 brother.\u00a0 She was also preceded in death by her loving companion, Jack Ames.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are her son, Bob (Rita) Lewis of Hornell; 1 daughter, Jean Alaimo of East Rochester; 3 sisters, Jean Green, Joanne Mooney &amp; Marianne (George) Jeremenko; 2 brothers, Gerald (Dee Kinney) Vetter and Raymond Vetter; 6 grandchildren, Brian (Sharon) Lewis, Barbara (Frank) Brzozowski, Bobby (Kelly) Lewis, Maria (Buck) Lawson, Christopher Alaimo and Joey Alaimo; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces &amp; nephews.<\/p>\n<p>At Lorraine\u2019s request there will be no calling hours.\u00a0 Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.\u00a0 The family requests that memorial contributions in her name be made to the Alzheimer\u2019s Association, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14620.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.\u00a0<a rel=\"attachment wp-att-719\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?attachment_id=719\"><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lorraine L. \u201cLou\u201d Lewis \u2013 85 \u2013 formerly of Rochester, died late Monday evening (July 18, 2011) at McAuley Manor where she has resided for the past 2 years.
