Daniel M. Russell \u2013 70 \u2013 of Fairlawn Avenue, Hornell died Friday morning (January 3, 2025) at home, following a courageous battle with cancer.<\/p>\n
Born in Olean, NY on August 23, 1954, he was the son of the late John & Charlotte (Clark) Russell.<\/p>\n
Daniel spent his life in the Southern Tier working at the former Foster Wheeler in Dansville, NY.\u00a0 He later drove truck, heavy equipment, and was an all-around handyman.\u00a0 He was quite the jack-of-all-trades and enjoyed working and keeping busy.\u00a0 Daniel loved spending time with his grandchildren, spoiling them with attention.\u00a0 He will always be remembered for his strong work ethic and his love for family.<\/p>\n
He is survived by his children, Danielle (Jason) Niedermaier of Norfolk, NY, David Russell of Hornell, Isiah Fultz of Hornell, Larry Russell of Hume, NY, Kristina McKinsey of Centerville, NY, Sue Robbins of Hume, NY, and Molly (Ben) Carr.\u00a0 He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, & nephews.<\/p>\n
To honor Daniel\u2019s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.\u00a0 A Celebration of Life will take place this summer at a time and location to be announced.\u00a0 Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.<\/p>\n
