{"id":7666,"date":"2025-06-18T14:21:20","date_gmt":"2025-06-18T18:21:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=7666"},"modified":"2025-06-20T13:02:25","modified_gmt":"2025-06-20T17:02:25","slug":"sandra-l-sandy-ramsey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/?p=7666","title":{"rendered":"Sandra L. \u201cSandy\u201d Ramsey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-7669\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Sandra-Ramsey-Photo-250x334.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"334\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Sandra-Ramsey-Photo-250x334.jpeg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Sandra-Ramsey-Photo-1024x1366.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Sandra-Ramsey-Photo-200x267.jpeg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Sandra-Ramsey-Photo-768x1025.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Sandra-Ramsey-Photo-1151x1536.jpeg 1151w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Sandra-Ramsey-Photo-1535x2048.jpeg 1535w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Sandra-Ramsey-Photo.jpeg 1664w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/>Atlanta, New York<\/p>\n<p>Sandra L. \u201cSandy\u201d Ramsey \u2013 72 \u2013 of 12 Wayland St., Atlanta, NY died unexpectedly on Tuesday (June 17, 2025) at her home, following a long illness.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Valencia, NM on March 5, 1953, she was the daughter of Dudley &amp; Ester (Chavez) Ramsey.<\/p>\n<p>Sandy grew up in Palms Springs, CA and was involved in the \u201cFood Industry\u201d most of her adult life.\u00a0 She was known as a disciplined hard worker, who was always had a smile on her face and was friendly to both staff &amp; customers.\u00a0 While living in California, Sandy worked in several bars &amp; restaurants and served as manager of The Sundowner.<\/p>\n<p>Moving to Rochester, NY in her early 40\u2019s, Sandy was employed as a cook, bartender &amp; waitress for several restaurants including manager of the Wishing Well Party House.\u00a0 In 2001, she moved to the Hornell area and served as manager of Rupert\u2019s Restaurant (Coachlite Motel).<\/p>\n<p>She enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy on TV.\u00a0 Her greatest joy in life, however, was simply spending time with her family &#8212; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>Sandy will be remembered as having a great sense of humor and it was always easy to talk to her.\u00a0 She was very much loved and will be dearly missed by everyone that had the good fortune of knowing her!<\/p>\n<p>In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Steve Ramsey; her great-grandson, Adonis Michael-Zachariah George.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are 3 daughters, Christine Valentic of Ukiah, CA, Roxanne Fuller of Hornell and Angela Cuevas of Modesto, CA; 2 brothers, Allen Ramsey of Palm Springs, CA and Philip Ramsey of Arizona; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces &amp; nephews.<\/p>\n<p>At Sandy\u2019s request there will be no calling hours.\u00a0 Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.<\/p>\n<p>Sandy\u2019s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name be made to a charity of the donor\u2019s choice.<\/p>\n<p>To leave an online condolence or share a memory, visit www.dagonfuneralhome.com.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Atlanta, New York Sandra L. \u201cSandy\u201d Ramsey \u2013 72 \u2013 of 12 Wayland St., Atlanta, NY died unexpectedly on Tuesday (June 17, 2025) at her home, following a long illness.
