Crouch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-7790\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Steve-Crouch-Photo-250x306.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"306\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Steve-Crouch-Photo-250x306.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Steve-Crouch-Photo-200x245.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.dagonfuneralhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Steve-Crouch-Photo.jpg 680w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/>Campbell, New York<\/p>\n<p>Steven J. \u201cSteve\u201d Crouch \u2013 68 \u2013 of County Route 333, Campbell, NY died Sunday afternoon (September 21, 2025) at his home, following a long illness.<\/p>\n<p>Steve was born in Corning, NY on November 4, 1956 and grew up in Savona, NY.\u00a0 He attended Savona Central School, leaving school at the age of 16.\u00a0 Many years later, at the age of 42 he decided to pursue his education, and in 1999 received his high school diploma from the BOCES Campus at Coopers Plains, NY.\u00a0 He also earned his Heavy Equipment Certification and his Commercial Driver\u2019s License (CDL) allowing him to drive Semi Trucks &amp; Trailers.<\/p>\n<p>After leaving high school (at age 16) and before returning to school (at age 42), Steve was employed at several locations including Babcock Ladder in Bath; a spray painter at Clark\u2019s Specialty in Hammondsport; and Bekins Moving Company (moving residential households) in Rochester, NY.\u00a0 He also worked as a driver (under permit with another licensed driver) for Swift Trucking in Syracuse, NY.\u00a0 After receiving his license &amp; certifications, he established Steve\u2019s Hauling, doing residential and commercial \u201cclean-outs\u201d throughout Steuben County.<\/p>\n<p>Steve was a true outdoorsman who, when his health permitted, enjoyed deer hunting and also fishing (both stream &amp; lake).\u00a0 He was an all-around \u201cHandy Man\u201d who could build or fix just about anything.\u00a0 He was an avid Harley Davidson Motorcycle enthusiast who loved taking long rides on his Harley \u201cTrike\u201d with his wife riding on the back.\u00a0 Steve will be remembered as a loving family man who enjoyed taking care of his family, his home, and his \u201cfeline companions\u201d (AKA cats).<\/p>\n<p>In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy Joseph Crouch.<\/p>\n<p>He was married in 1977 to the former Cindy Snyder who survives.\u00a0 Also surviving are 2 sons, Jerome Crouch of Campbell and Nicholas Crouch of Bath; several siblings, including his brother, Roger (Debra) DeCamp of Savona.<\/p>\n<p>At Steve\u2019s request there will be no calling hours.\u00a0 Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.<\/p>\n<p>Steve\u2019s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name be made to the Fingerlakes Animal Shelter, 72 Cameron St., Bath, NY 14810.<\/p>\n<p>To leave an online condolence or share a memory, visit www.dagonfuneralhome.com.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Campbell, New York Steven J. \u201cSteve\u201d Crouch \u2013 68 \u2013 of County Route 333, Campbell, NY died Sunday afternoon (September 21, 2025) at his home, following a long illness.
