June D. Caslick \u2013 79 \u2013 died Monday morning (September 29, 2025) at Maple City Rehab (formerly Hornell Gardens) where she had resided for the past 2 years.<\/p>\n
Born in Nashville, TN on September 14, 1946, she was the daughter of Richard & Vida (Uselton) Caslick.<\/p>\n
June grew up in Newfield, NY and was a graduate of Ithaca High School.\u00a0 She later graduated from Cortland State College Majoring in Education.\u00a0 She was a veteran of the US Women\u2019s Army Corp (WAC) earning the rank of Captain.\u00a0 While serving in the military, June was stationed in many locations including New York City and Aniston, AL.<\/p>\n
Following her honorable discharge from the WAC\u2019s, she began her teaching career and eventually serving as Director of Human Resources at Cornell University.\u00a0 Throughout the years, June resided in many locations, including Ithaca, NY, Etna, NY Enfield, NY, Orlando, FL and had resided in Hornell for the past 2 years.<\/p>\n
A very spiritual person, June enjoyed growing flowers, watching birds at her feeder and reading.<\/p>\n
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard & Vida Caslick.<\/p>\n
Surviving are 2 brothers, James \u201cFred\u201d (Susan) Caslick of Portland, OR and David Caslick of Rodeo, NM; 1 sister, Susan (Joel) Schell of Ithaca, NY; along with several nieces & nephews.<\/p>\n
At June\u2019s request there will be no calling hours.\u00a0 Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.<\/p>\n
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.<\/p>\n
June\u2019s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name be made to the Hornell Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Road, Hornell, NY\u00a0 14843.<\/p>\n
